Ch.9

I woke up next to Sophie. I slowly try and get out of her room before she woke up.
"Hey babe" she said
"Where you going?"
"Oh I didn't wanna wake you up. I was gonna go get breakfast downstairs. Wanna come?"
"Yeah." She says whole stretching.
"I'll get ready and meet you in the living room."
"What? I can't stay here?"
"Get out." She says laughing and throws a pillow at me. I catch it and say
"But..but...but..."
"Hey. Don't make that face. Get out or you won't seen anything for a long time."
"Haha you think bribing me with no sex will work?"
"Yes. Yes I do."
"That's why you're my favourite. I'll see you in the living room." I put the pillow back and kiss her. I leave and close the door. I left it a little bit open.
"Tay!" She yells.
"Ok I'm leaving" I turn and see Janette.
"She's good."
"Yeah. Coffee?"
"Sure."
"I'll go make some."
"I'll be pissing." I go to the bathroom and come back. I walk in the kitchen and Janette hands me a mug.
"So what are you doing today?" I ask.
"Probably gonna go grocery shopping."
"Ooh ooh can you bring those Japanese cookies. They're so good."
"You gonna pay for them?"
"I'll pick them up myself"
"Good choice"
Sophie came out of the room. Janette gave her a mug too.
"So Tay what are you doing tomorrow?"
"Uhh nothing. Just probably gonna ball and chill why?."
"You don't have to go anywhere? Even late afternoon?" I look up to her and say,
"No." And sip my coffee.
"Nothing at all coming to mind? Like maybe a football game? Or maybe last minute shopping?"
"No haha why babe?" I look at Janette waving her hands behind Sophie.
Sophie was tying her running shoes. Sophie turned around to look at Janette. Janette quickly switched from waving to stretching.
"Oh ok then. I'm.... I'm gonna go for a run. I'll be back soon."
"Bye Sophie. Have fun." Janette said.
"Bye babe" I said.
"Bye Jan." and she closes the door.
"Am I missing something? Oh god. Is it her moms birthday?"
"Not even close."
"Dads?"
"Nope."
"She's pregnant?"
"What?"
"Nothing"
"I'll help you out. Rhymes with her first flow"
"Her first flow? Swimming lessons?"
"Oh god. Here's another one. Her first fucking shmow!"
"Oh my fucking God. Her first show! Fuuuck. I'm such a bad boyfriend"
"Yeah"
"I need to make it up for her. Flowers?"
She mouths no while holding her mug and shaking her head.
"Chocolate"
"Allergic"
"Oh god. Do I even know her?"
"Taylor. Sit down. Relax. Breathe. I'll help you." she said. I sit down. She comes over to me and says
"When boys forget VERY important things there's one thing that will always please a girl. Can you guess?
"Sex?"
"That's such a guy answer"
"Ok ok ok I'm joking. Uhhh clothes? Heels? Food?"
"No... Actually yes but the best thing is tickets. Concert tickets. Especially to her favourite artist."
"Kendrick?"
"Her favourite artist."
"Hey we went to his concert on our first adult date"
"Adult date? I don't even wanna know"
"Let's see. Bob Marley? Oh wait. DRAKE!"
"Ding ding ding."
"But I hate the dude. She never stops talking about him."
"Are you jealous?"
"Pssht no!"
"Oh my god. I finally found someone Taylor fucking Wender is jealous of. Who would've thought it was Drizzy mother fucking drake?"
"Are you done?"
"Not even close. Just hold on Taylor, we're going home."
"Ok that doesn't even make sense."
"You think he'll sing it tonight?"
"Wait it's tonight?"
"Nope."
"Janette!"
"Yeah it is. Better search for tickets right now before she comes home." I ran to Sophie's room and grabbed her laptop. I logged in and searched for tickets.
"Jan! They're sold out!"
"Oh that sucks." She said waving two tickets in front of me.
"Dude you're a fucking lifesaver."
"Ah ah ah. No you don't." She said moving away. I follow her.
"Jan what do I have to do?" She turned around and had a smirk
"Janette, Sophie is my girlfriend I can't do that."
"No dude WTF no please what the hell." I was surprised.
"oh shit I thought you meant... Never mind" She gave me a look that said "you know"
"No. No. I can't you said that was off limits."
"No YOU said it was off limits. I said that I would use it in a situation like this."
"Janette. Anything else?"
"I have nothing else except that."
"No."
"Fine I'll just tell Sophie that you crashed her car"
"Dude! You're so fucking evil"
"Awww you're so sweet!"
"Fine you have a deal."
"Shake on it." she stuck out her hand. I shook my body.
"God you're such a child."
"Awwww you're so sweet"
"Dick"
"Thanks" I shook her hand and she gave the tickets. As soon as I grabbed the tickets Sophie walked in.
"Hey babe how was your run?"
"Janette can you grab me a water please. I need to go change."
"Yeah no problem."
"It's ok Jan I'll get it." I said.
"Thanks JAN" Sophie said. I sat down on the couch. Sophie went to her room. Janette grabbed a pillow and threw it at me.
"Be a man and go in there."
"You know, you are really aggressive."
"Go!" She said. I got up and opened her door.
"Not now Tay"
"Whoa ok. I guess I'll just have to talk someone else to the Drake concert."
"Hey. That's not funny. You can joke about him."
"Who said I was?"
"I can tell you're lying." I pulled the tickets out.
"Right. Guess you don't know me as well as you thought"
"Omfg" she said. She jumped at me and hugged and kissed me.
"This still means I'm angry at you."
"For what? Not talking about your first show?"
"Yeah"
"Soph..its 9 in the morning. I will probably won't even talk about hockey. I like sleeping."
"You're right I overreacted."
"No I actually did forget"
"Asshole" she said as she punched me.
"Is today 'National Abuse Taylor Day'?"
"I'm sorry baby" she said in a mocking voice.
"Yeah ok" I said as we both laughed.
"Ok I'll be here at around 4. After the show we grab a bite to eat and then I run through the 6 with my one and only woe?"
"Awww. I love when you use Drake lyrics when you're flirting with me."
"Haha I know you do." I kissed her.
"Ok I'll leave you two alone." I walk out her room.
"Bye Jan" then I whisper
"Thanks again. I'll do the thing after the concert"
"Bye Taylor."
I walk out the door.

Few hours later I knock on the door. Janette opens it while eating a cookie.
"Ooo cookie. Can I have?"
"Sure." I break off a piece and give it back to her.
"Thanks" I walk in.
"You're looking nice Taylor."
I was wearing a a white shirt with a black leather jacket and black jeans.
"Don't know if you're serious or not"
"Did you like the cookie?"
"Yeah"
"Then I'm serious"
"Right...? Is she still in the bathroom?"
"Yep"
"Good. Are these the flowers your parents sent?"
"Yeah" she said. I took a couple and said
"Tell them thanks"
"Taylor!" As soon as she said said that Sophie walked out. She wore a Drake crop top saying "running through the 6 with my woes" and short shorts.
"Daaammnnn" I say.
"Haha thank you babe"
"These are for you" I gave her the flowers I took.
"Aww you're so sweet" she went toward the Janette's bouquet and put them back.
"Nice try"
"She's too good" I said to Janette
"Right". We laugh.
"Ok so we can get sushi or tacos"
"Hmmm which one will gave me better breathe so I can kiss Drake?"
"Oh ha ha ha. You're hilarious. Looks like we're getting pizza with a lot of freaking garlic."
"I'm kidding babe." She whispered.
"Not really."
"Oh ok I see how it is."
"Let's go Tay or else I won't be able to Drake"
"That would be unfortunate wouldn't it?"
"Shut up lets go." We said bye to Janette and got in my car.
"We stopped at a sushi place and ate there. 30 minutes later we finished and head to the Staples Centre.
"So how'd you get the tickets?"
"I ordered them last week, why?"
"Cuz they were sold out the first day"
"Psshhttt I knew that. I meant first day"
"Janette?"
"Yeah."
"You're gonna have to do the thing eh?"
"Yeah. Can we just not talk about it ok?"
"Hahaha ok you're choice. Just so you know I..really..realllyy... appreciate it Tay" she said really slowly, and touching my arm and biting her lip. I looked at her and said
"I'm gonna pull over right now"
"Hahaha no. We're gonna be late."
"Fuck drake"
"I mean if you say so"
"No it was a figure of speech."
"Nope you said it"
"Fine. Did you know I changed my name to Drake?"
"Oh you're good"
"I know."

We got there and parked.
"Oh shit" I said as we got out
"What?" She said.
"Nothing"
"Tay?"
"I totally have the tickets if that's what you're wondering about." I say as I check my pockets.
"TAYLOR!"
"Don't worry. I probably dropped it between the seats." She checked her seat. She was frantically looking. I go to her side and start staring at her ass. She didn't even notice. A few seconds later she stopped and got up.
"You have them don't you."
"Heeeey"
"You're such an ass"
"And you have a gorgeous one."
"Well you ain't having it tonight."
"I wonder what would happen if I threw these away" she ran at me and punched me in the arm and grabbed the tickets.
"Now what?" She said taunting me
"I'll just do this" I picked her up over my shoulders and carried her towards the arena.
"Tay! Tay! Put me down." She said screaming.
"Shhh people are gonna think I kidnapped you and forced you to come and watch Drake tonight."
"Best kidnapper ever" A couple we walked past gave us a look.
"She's joking. I'm not that good of a kidnapper."
"He's kidding. Sorry guys. Enjoy Drake tonight." Sophie Said
"Taylor you're so bad."
"The good way or the bad way?"
"Both"
I put her down and we got in the arena. We laughed and talked. We found our seats and started waiting. A few guys were sitting behind us but we didn't acknowledge them. As the first few opening singers came out more and more people piled in. Drake finally came out and Sophie was thrilled. She was so happy. I knew she needed this because of what had happened with all the notes and the restaurant incident. She needed this and had to get away from it. She deserved to be happy. And that made me happy.
