The Sanctum Sanctorum was unusually quiet, the mystical energies that usually danced in the air now still. Tony Stark, having left the bustling streets of New York behind, found himself standing in the heart of Doctor Strange's sanctuary. He sought out the sorcerer, needing a moment of respite from the chaos of his own mind.
Strange emerged from the shadows, his cloak billowing around him. He noticed Tony and gave a nod of acknowledgment. "Tony, what brings you here? Another existential crisis or just the usual Stark charm?"
Tony chuckled, though there was a hint of vulnerability in his eyes. "Maybe a bit of both. Can't seem to shut my brain off lately."
Strange studied him for a moment before gesturing to a quiet corner of the room. "Come, sit. Sometimes silence is the best remedy."
As they settled into the dimly lit space, Tony couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over him. The silence was a welcome change, and the soft glow of mystical artifacts cast a gentle light on Strange's face.
"You know, Stephen," Tony began, his voice softer than usual, "I never thought I'd find myself seeking solace in a place like this."
Strange smirked. "The mystical arts have their own way of drawing people in, Stark."
Tony sighed, his gaze meeting Strange's. "I appreciate what you do, you know? Saving the world with magic and all. It's... different."
Strange raised an eyebrow. "Different good or different bad?"
"Good, I think," Tony replied, a small smile playing on his lips. "And, um, speaking of different... there's something else that's been on my mind."
Strange leaned in, a curious glint in his eyes. "Do tell."
Tony took a deep breath. "Well, you see, it's about us. I mean, you and me."
Strange's expression softened. "Go on."
Tony hesitated for a moment before laying his cards on the table. "I've realized that, amidst all the chaos and craziness, I've grown... fond of you. More than fond, actually."
A knowing smile tugged at the corners of Strange's lips. "Fond, you say?"
Tony chuckled nervously. "Okay, fine. I'm in love with you, Stephen Strange. There, I said it."
The room seemed to hold its breath for a moment before Strange's composed demeanor gave way to a genuine smile. "Took you long enough, Stark."
Tony blinked in surprise. "Wait, you knew?"
Strange nodded. "The mystical arts may not make me an expert in matters of the heart, but I'm not oblivious. Besides, it seems we share a mutual affection."
A weight lifted off Tony's shoulders, and he couldn't help but return Strange's smile. "Well, then. That makes things easier, doesn't it?"
