♪"End of Beginning" by Djo ♪

"Thanks for bringing me, Hanbin. Here, give me your phone number" Hao says, extending his phone towards the boy who is still sitting on the driver's seat of the car. Hanbin smiles up at Hao before typing down his number

"No problem. If you need anything call me" Hanbin says and Hao nods. The boy closes the car door for Hanbin and watches as the car takes off of his apartment's drive away.

Hao clicks his tongue, running into the large building to keep warmth. As he gets to his floor, he sees his dad watching the TV, not noticing as he passes by

"Hey Dad" he calls out. The man looks at him and a kind smile appears on his face

"Hao! How was it?" he asks. Hao jumps on the couch beside his dad, leaning his head on one of the pillows

"It was good. Sorry I came so late... traffic was heavy"

"No worries, son"

"Is mom home yet?" he asks, looking down at his phone, hearing his dad sigh

Hao smiles as he sees a new number appear on his screen

hey!

btw it's hanbin

you left your scarf in my car

"Not yet. Work is becoming really heavy for her right now. She will be back in around an hour or so. How about you make her some dinner?"

"Hm..."

oh sorry

can you give it back to me in school?

"And maybe wash up as well, your hair is full of snow"

"Hm..."

sure

i'll see you monday then :)

"Hao!" his dad raises his voice, making Hao jump back in surprise

"Oh, sorry, what were you saying?" he asks. His dad sighs, shaking his head and making Hao laugh

"Make your mom some dinner and go take a bath," his dad says. Hao nods his head, heading to the kitchen.

The satisfaction of making a new friend will never get old. Hao feels that satisfaction right now. The feeling always feels new, since the person itself is new. In this situation, Hao feels like Hanbin is a reliable person, maybe someone that he can trust. He wouldn't have told him about Seo Jun otherwise.

As Hao makes the dinner of the night, he smiles to himself with a melodic hum. A new friend... he likes the sound of that.

"Dad, the food is ready. Eat it when you want" Hao says, walking out of the kitchen and going to his room.

Hao picks up his pajamas, stacking his other clothes on top of each other to not make a mess. He looks out his window, which overshadows the city lights at the height of the apartment. Something about the snow and the city made it look one hundred times more beautiful than usual nights.

Hao sighs as he hears his phone ding. He walks to his bed and sits down on it, picking his phone up
