It was weird waking up in someone else's bed. Weird not to change in my bathroom or room. But I guess I felt better knowing the places I did all those things were in Adrien's home.

Pulling my skirt on over my black tights in the bathroom I hear Adrien on the phone. I try my best to not listen in and tug my sweater on before tucking it into my skirt hem.

My eyes judge my body through the reflection. Knowing the scars that lay beneath all of these clothes somehow still deep through to the surface. I'm a walking mess to the world. I've always been a bother somewhere. I'm starting to believe God putting me down here was the greatest mistake he's made.

Once I fold my dirty clothes I tuck them in a bag I brought to act as a laundry basket. The bag plops onto the floor in the corner of Adrien's bathroom and I walk out of the bathroom after.

Adrien stands at the end of the bed pulling on a white dress shirt. He turns at the sound of me entering the room. I can't help but eye him like candy when he turns towards me buttoning his shirt.

When I meet his eyes seconds later, a warm hot feeling floods my face and I walk away. "I uhm- sorry." I busy myself with the shoes laid out on the floor. The boots slip onto my feet like gloves and I zip them up the side.

"Katie," Adrien comes forward toward me through my line of gaze. "Hm?" I stand and brush down my skirt to avoid eye contact with Adrien. "Hey, look at me." His hand cups my chin and the plan to avoid eye contact fails. "If you don't feel comfortable in here you can always sleep in the other room. I'm not forcing you to sleep in my bed."

"Yeah, I know that. But," A thought passes me just then. "You're the only thing stopping my nightmares..." Adrien studies me with great care before brushing my hair behind my ear and pecking my head with a warm kiss. "We're going to the office so I'd grab my stuff if I were you."

It amazes me how fast Adrien can switch the mood. Even more than it feels right when he does. It's a smooth transition that makes me want to be near him more. Hear him talk more. Just be here with him because he's the closest thing I have to safe right now.

"Hey after we finish can you take me to see Evelyn?" Adrien stops from leaving the room at my question. He turns to face me with a warm tight-lipped smile. "Yeah, of course we can." I return his response with a smile and I turn away. "You look gorgeous by the way." He states leaving me a little red flushed to the bone. His footsteps fade out into the apartment, leaving me in the room alone.

Adrien and I have made it work on the bike. Me wearing skirts used to be a problem but now Adrien lays his blazer on top of me. I tuck it under my legs to ensure it won't fall and that's how we ride.

In the office, I always walk a foot ahead of Adrien. He always catches up though. His hand meets the small of my back and the looks from workers never go unnoticed. I have no clue if the looks are judgment because I'm with him or disappointment that he's with a girl. Another girl.
