Nostalgia
I feel it when I'm sitting down and smell a blown out candle
I feel it when I'm walking past a place I once saw as home
I feel it when I hear my mom singing in a shallow voice
I feel it when I hold someones hand that is bigger than mine
Because the feeling of nastalgia is like no other
It feels like everything at once
And it just hits you like a large beach wave
You feel like your looking at all those memories once again before you
Feeling everything you did then
The smell of the smoke from that candle brings back the best memories
When the Halloween candle would get put out before bed
Pumpkin spice
The sight of that old home brings back the best memories
Like in elementary school
Getting ready early in the morning looking at myself from my mom's body mirror
The sound of my moms voice singing brings back the best memories
When she'd sit over me and sing me to sleep
The feeling of holding a hand bigger than mine brings back the best memories
When my dad would hold my hand crossing a busy street
Nostalgia...
Isn't always the best feeling
Smelling that blown out candle brings back the "best" memories
Like when all I could smell is cigarette smoke at 5 years old
Passing that house brings back the "best" memories
Like when I was sitting on the floor screaming and crying while my parents faught
Hearing my moms singing brings back the "best" memories
Like when she held me and sang to calm me down while my dad was fighting with my grandpa
Holding a hand thats bigger than mine brings back the "best" memories
Like when I was holding my moms hand trying to get it off my wrist while she yelled at me for the lines I drew
