I sigh and walk to the car. I get in, they all look at me, silently asking the same question: why did I decide to turn around.
"So, the person she was talking to. I recognized him. And I didn't want to sit with them."
Everyone exchanges a worried glance.
"Who was it?"
San asks.
"Yuchan."
Chapter -13-
"Are you sure? Maybe it was someone else who just looked similar."
Seonghwa tries to reason, but I quickly turn him down.
"No, it was clearly him."
"Do you still want to get revenge? We weren't able to find him, so if you want to, now's your time."
I glare at Seonghwa,
"Of course I want revenge. Why would I throw away my only chance at ending the only person in this world who still torments me? He's probably forgotten all about it, while that day still replays in my dreams, everyday."
"Okay, let's tell Hongjoong first."
I nod as Seonghwa calls Hongjoong and begins to speak with him. Their conversation blurs into fuzz while my mind is taken back to that night, that night I last ever saw her.
It was the day I would always visit her. She was sitting in an empty room, staring off into space.
"Jiyoo!"
I exclaim. I sigh as I plop down next to her. I lean forward and let myself observe her. A wave of sadness washes over me when I think about when we were younger. She was always dragging me to do random shit, like surfing, shopping, skydiving, or just running along the shore of a beach. She was always so lively, now I'm staring at a pair of eyes that have glossed over, having experienced something, so young, while other people may never. I start talking to her, knowing I won't get a response,
"My birthday's next week. I wanna go to the beach with you, do you think the hospital will let you? You haven't had any episodes in a long time. I'm gonna ask them before I leave. But before I can do that, I have to make sure, do you want to go?"
Her head twitches up ever so slightly. I smile, seeing she's having a good day. I stand up and stare at her, still smiling.
"P-please don't- leave."
She whispers, I barely catch it and my eyes widen, it's been over a year since she has ever verbally responded. My eyes tear up as I engulf her in a hug.
"Of course, I'll always be here for you."
She barely manages to smile and looks up at me,
"I- l-love you."
I burst out crying and just hug her, repeating that I'll always love her no matter what.
"Get off her or both of you die!!"
Someone yells. I look up in surprise and see five men pointing guns at us. I slowly take my arms off of her and take a small step back.
"W-what do you want?"
I ask, my voice shaky. The man in the middle, when seems to be in charge, spins his black pistol in his hand and teasingly points it at Jiyoo. He chuckles, his next sentences filled with mockery,
