The door was filled with blood as it dripped down to the ground. The side part of the door was smashed in the middle where the boy's head was stuck. He screamed.
"Isn't your Himang? Himang lost his strength?" The boy who was gripping his head laughed.
The bathroom stall was a mess. The ceramic pieces were all over the ground making a pool of blood scatter over them.
"What does Himang mean, Takashi?" A girl asked while carefully making curls on her hair looking at the mirror ignoring the bloodied boy beside her.
"It means strength in Korean, Mina. I wonder where his strength is." Takashi held Himang's hair and made him look at her.
"Hey, do you know that we are doing you a favor? One, we are letting you skip maths class because your dumb head won't be able to take the practice today." He said while laughing.
Himang heaved as the blood-soaked his school uniform while dripping down and creating patterns on the marble tiles of the bathroom. He tried to stay awake because he knew the beatings would increase twice if he fainted.
"Two, we extracting blood from your head so you can grow clever." Mina laughed at Takashi's lame logic.
Takashi and the other boys chuckled but then as another slap landed on the boy's cheek, Mina screamed. "Gosh, the blood is spattering on me! My uniform is newly washed." She sulked as if Himang's half-dead state was a play to everyone else.
Although, it was not allowed for boys to be in school bathrooms, beating and tormenting a student physically and mentally until their academic life ended and they killed themselves was also not allowed.
But nobody ever cared for the rules in these elite schools. They cared about passing the time and thriving through other's pain. Their parents were so very ready to cover whatever heinous crimes they ever committed.
The parents were not foolish, they were ignorant. Ruining the lives of the weak was a sport. It made them feel superior in their sense and under the justified law that is so very decent, these students will never get the consequences they deserve.
Maybe the law would try to eradicate evil, but the screams were always muffled by gold and dollar bills.
So I smiled. How lovely it felt to be the server of justice.
I kicked open the bathroom door behind which I had for the last few minutes, watching the atrocities unfold before my eyes.
The boy and the girl looked at me, shocked. They never expected anyone to dare stop their work.
I smiled at all of them. Their eyes widened. They never saw me smile before this.
"What the fuck were you doing here all along?" Mina put her curler on the basin and turned to me.
I looked at Himang. The boy needed to go to the hospital immediately. They were waiting to see what I did. They usually weigh our audacity first before doing anything because-- according to them-- we had no right to have any power.
I calmly walked towards Himang. Thankfully the boy was conscious enough to stand as I opened the door.
He looked at me as if I had killed someone. He was scared for me. "They will kill you," He whispered inaudible for them to hear.
I tilted my head. "You don't have to worry. Save yourself." As I had opened the door half, he tripped but still managed to leave. I closed the door.
"You might as well lock it. I don't think you are getting out alive." Mina threatened me.
