Hunter

Staying one step ahead of the deceitful and greedy authorities of this world, Maya and my body counts rose. When the world teetered on the brink of Economic and social collapse where none trusted the other, my obsession with destruction consumed me entirely.

I may have to confront the consequences of a burnt world in front of me but the path ahead of me was not blurry. I was to keep going ahead. No matter who came in between. I will always win, I will always be ready to destroy the world I lived in.

While Maya wanted to eliminate evil. I wanted to just eradicate anything and everything in front of me. I was not sorry to myself. I felt pity for others. No matter what, I must be the master of demise. That was where I was headed.

And Maya had no clue about it. I will walk through her plan, and then stitch my ideas to her. But then, she cannot leave me. She is a part of my wreckage. She is a part of my soul now.

I gasped as the dream turned into reality. The bright light of the window pierced my sleepy vision. I groaned and turned to the other side of my bed. I heard Maya sigh. She pulled my duvet but I held it tight.

"My sleep is precious, ma'am. Take your leave." I told her.

"Shut up," She gave me one last tug. "We need to talk."

I could listen to her all day. But now, I was unable to keep my eyes open. Last night, my mind was clouded by my own thoughts. If I wanted to think today, I need sleep.

I tried to cover my head. I may have underestimated Maya's strength because when she used both of her hands to pull the duvet, the duvet came off and somehow I sat up in my half-sleep state. I glared at her.

She plopped on the bed. "Your sleep is not that important." She ignored my glare.

I stretched, "Your talk could wait."

After I got out of bed, I took my clothes and decided to take a shower early to get rid of my slumber because there was no way she wouldn't kill me if I didn't listen to her attentively when she spoke. Taking a random pants and shirt, I got ready and came out of the shower.

Maya was deep in her thoughts. I clapped my hands and sat down. "What is it, now?"

"Do you know what we are going to do next?" She asked biting her nails.

"You are the mastermind in Bloodbane," I shrugged my shoulders. "I just kill."

I know I was testing her patience but she looked so cute when her cheeks turned red. She looked away. Taking a deep breath she looked at me again. "I know we will not go along with Ali's plan. He does give us a path for our mission but he will not do it just like that. There is a price for it and he is keeping it covered."

I yawned. Bored. "I know that. What do you plan on doing?"

She contemplated for a second. "For now, we will go along with his plan. Then we will kill him."

I frowned. Maya was never messy with her ideas. What is up now? "Are you serious?"

She nodded. "Ali wants us to take down the world's governments and set an example that there is no place for evil. We will do just that. Right before we finish, I will end his life."

I raised my eyebrow. "Is that all?" I asked.

She nodded. She is looking earnest right now. Is that her plan? Or is she concealing something like I am?

"The massacres have held to students fleeing the country resulting in the downfall of the academics of Japan. The only intel we have regarding the killer or the killers is that they have some sort of a connection with the upper-class community. They can grab data from anywhere and everywhere and by that, they had learned where the police chief would have been the time he was killed, 2 days ago." Yuki finished her presentation.

Everyone acknowldged the presentation which was solely stupid. This just proves that they have no strong evidence of information against us. It was now Ryu Johnson's time to present the intel for Bloodbane. Everyone's data was planely dry and nothing new. I was looking forward to his words because he has been ignoring mine and Maya's presence unlike everyone.

He cleared his throat. His eyes were tired and droopy but his build was tall and buff. His shirts could not contain his muscles. He picked up the tablet and turned on the screen. "By far, we know that Bloodbane may or may not be an organization. If we asses the killings of the past few weeks, we can see that the killings have a fine line of school bullies in the first week and in the next it consists of criminals, business man and woman and higher authorities."

He presented the picture of a few man and woman who were our past targets in the case. "These people have some sort of criminal record on them. It proves that the organization is build up upon an individual who had once started alone then moved onto extending their group by people with a minset of distorted justice." I looked at Maya when he said that.

She looked neutral. Although he was saying anything but false.

He opened a slide to show the picture of schools at one rank, then taking it onto the screen. "Bloodbane initially targeted school bullies, but as of late, the victims have shifted to criminals, police chiefs, and authorities. This shift in targeting suggests a deliberate escalation in the killer's agenda."

I kept a straight face as he continued. This man's information was classified. Maya looked impressed. We both exchanged glances. He is onto something.

He advanced to the next slide, displaying crime scene photos and forensic reports. "Forensic analysis indicates a pattern in the murders—meticulously planned executions, all executed with surgical precision. The commonality among the victims points to a calculated fight against those who abuse their power."

Ryu cleared his throat, his gaze sweeping over the room. "Now, onto the evidence that implicates our prime suspect." He clicked to the next slide, revealing a series of surveillance footage clips, each showing suspicious activity near the crime scenes.

"These footage captures individuals with access to classified information, individuals who have the means and motive to carry out these killings." He said. "The only people who had the access to such confidential meetings were the governmental authorities and businessmen of automobile parts."

On his last words everyone frowned. Businessmen of automobile parts? There were lots of people attending the meeting where the police chief was. Why is he specifically bringing that up?

"Now, if you look closely. The automobile business people are the one's who knew when and where the police chief may be or where the meeting would be held. Plus, if we look at the other victims of Bloodbane we will see a pattern of the automobile business owners being involved in it directily or indirectly."

"What are you trying to implement here, Ryu?" Kaito Miller fixed his posture questioning him.

"What I am trying to indicate is that, Bloodbane has been suspiciously silent after the joining of Miss. Maya and Hunter."

Everyone looked up at Ryu. The tension was getting heavier in the meeting room. Ali looked calm and composed. Maya held the same calmness as him.

"The only one with the direct access to the Automobile owners is Maya Ali who's father . I am not suspecting her. It's just that it is too clear of an evidence too ignore." He finished.

I may or may not be looking for my next victim but his fucker caught my attention in the first way possible. He was targeting Maya.

If he shoots one more glare at her direction, I'll have his head on my hand, right now. This instant.

Because I will kill him soon.
