Maya
My bags were packed as Alice had helped me ready everything. I was leaving the house. Baba did not kick me out of the house. This was his way of saying that he did not want to see me ever again. Everything happened last night. I had some time to arrange my thoughts after getting a good night's sleep.
So, Ali had sent my father an email with evidence, pictures, and whatnot regarding everything I had been doing for the past few weeks. That man had proposed to me in the jungle saying that I would be joining the special force very soon. He had asked knowing that I would decline.
He had me in his fists. So now, he could either send me and Hunter to jail or make us work for him. By working for him, it just meant that we would be trying to convince him that our mindset was the right type of justice. Not distorted. At least that was better than being confined in prison.
Baba cared more about his reputation than sending his daughter to the world's most powerful force. He needed to make sure he had his fortune in his hands before he died.
I was never surprised. Baba had somehow depicted that I would do something like that. He never trusted me with anything, especially with myself.
The special force was located in a special area. It was probably a high-tech building or something. I did not want to speculate much about it. Baba was my guardian and he had permitted me to stay there in their contract which they made me sign before I joined the force as a detective
Ali was the director there and he had founded that force while he was involved in the Zulfikar Al-Ghayb case. He applied for my contact. I still did not know if Hunter would be coming with me. I had no contact with me.
The country was going nuts. The news announced that we were the genius kids contributing to the mission. To catch Bloodbane- that they named me. So I joined the special force being everyone's hero as a detective at the age of 17 to catch the criminal that was me.
I laughed. I was sitting on the couch in the hallway. My thoughts were in disarray. I will be working with the world's most powerful detectives in the span of a few hours to catch Bloodbane. My school has been paused and I will be gapping until I catch the criminal.
Alice put my luggage in front of me. I was still deep in my thoughts. She sniffed. I looked up at her. Her tears were sticking to her cheeks. I could not possibly ignore her emotions. She raised me.
I went to her and gave her a light hug. "I will miss you, darling. You never eat properly, what will you do there?" She sniffed again.
I smiled a little. She was worried about me. "I will be fine."
"Make sure to catch the killer and come back home soon. I will be waiting for you." She said.
"I will," The words tasted bitter on my tongue.

I got inside the car. Giving one last look to my house, I snatched my gaze away. This is either the start or the end of my whole life. This mission will direct my path. Although I have no idea what I will do next.
The drive was a few hours. We arrived in Tokyo. My driver looked up at the building. "This is the Task Force Headquarters."
I nodded. It was a sleek high-rise building located on a much quieter side in Tokyo. Outside, it appears as a contemporary office building with clean lines and glass, blending in with the surrounding cityscape. The building may have a prominent entrance, possibly with security measures in place given the sensitive nature of the investigations conducted inside.
I sighed. I walked inside. The guards took my appearance and did not question me as I headed in. Inside, the headquarters features a mix of open office spaces, meeting rooms, and high-tech surveillance and analysis rooms. The decor is functional yet sophisticated, with state-of-the-art equipment and technology to aid the task force in their investigations.
