"Hey Taylor"

Jasons voice was soft as he leaned against her locker.

Gone was the leariness and swagger he had attempted to woo her with during their Flirting Friday run ins. Now he just gently gazed down at her, his eyes speaking a language that she couldn't decipher.

"I had a lot of fun with you on Friday"

Taylor couldn't help but mirror his gentle smile

"Yeah, it was nice, thank you for being such a gentleman"

"It was a bummer about the coffee date though"

"Yeah, sorry for bailing on you but my mood was pretty blah and I didn't want to inflinct myself on anyone"

Jason nodded his understand and then fiddled awkwardly with the silver ring he wore on his left thumb.

He wanted to say something but couldn't find the words even though Taylor thought he looked really cute trying.

Eventually he managed to put a coherent sentence together, his voice nervous as he spoke

"I um... I was actually hoping we could do something tonight, I don't know what, maybe the movies or get some food, whatever you want really"

Watching him stumbling over his words and fidgeting with his fingers made him seem more vulnerable and less cocksure of himself than she had ever seen him before and Taylor couldn't help but find herself liking this version of Jason Kelce but saying yes to him when there was more than just him taking up space in her head felt wrong so she sighed heavily before shrugging

"Look, Taylor, I like you and I want to get to know you but if there's something holding you back or if I'm just like the grossest thing you've ever seen and this isn't going anywhere you can tell me okay and I will hear you this time"

Letting out a small giggle she tilted her head to the side and gazed in to Jason's  face, his features were bold, his skin sun-kissed and his lips full. He was beautiful, without doubt but there was no tingle when he smiled at her, no fire when he winked or said something suggestive but maybe there could be, maybe she just had to give him a chance.

Sensing she was contemplating things deeply, Jason reached over and smoothed his thumb over her cheek.

"Level with me Taylor, what's stopping you from just going for this the way I am?"

Taylor contemplated the question for a good minute or two before sighing and deciding to just lay it on the line with him

"OK, I'm going to be totally honest here, because I think you deserve that"

Jason nodded and raised his eyebrows asking her to go on

"I have never been interested in going out with you. I know who you are, Jason Kelce, King of the jocks, a 'fuckboy' of the highest order"

Jason grimaced at her words as his hand went to his chest

"Okay Taylor, and now tell me how you really feel about me"

"But I feel like the other night was nice, you were none of the things I thought you were"

Again Jason returned his hand to her face and cupped her cheek

"And I never will be, not with you"

"So now the thought of going out with you doesn't totally repulse me the way it used to"

"Fuck sake Taylor please, leave me with at least some of my ego in tact, it's all I have"

Taylor laughed a little and then ran her fingers through her hair, unsure of how he would respond to the next bit of information
