Double Date Part 1

Taylor Swift was angry

No, scratch that, she was raging, furious as hell and jealous...

God help her, she was so jealous she could practically feel her skin beginning to turn green.

It had been exactly 1 week since her first date with Jason and during that week they had grown closer, going to the movies twice and then hanging out together at her house after school twice.

It had been nice spending time with him, getting to know the man behind the bravado. The man that left roses in her locker, kissed her slowly and softly and liked to hold her hand whilst watching a movie.

Jason was sweet, nice, nothing at all like the dumbfuck sitting in the booth two down from her.

Travis from fuckin table 14, sat there in his white dress shirt, the top 3 buttons open, silver pendant on show, dark hair perfectly coiffed looking like God had sent him from heaven and it was becoming more and more clear that he had been sent with one aim, to mess with Taylors head

Sitting there smiling, all gorgeous white teeth and full pink lips, smiling at another fucking girl and Taylor wanted to murder them both and then bury their bodies under the patio so she never had to look at either of them and feel like this again

"Are you OK?" Jasons eyes were heavy with concern.

Tonight wasn't just the one week anniversary of their first date, it was the night he planned to ask her to be his girlfriend and he realised a 'yes' was far from assured so he needed her in a good mood, he needed her flirty and fun, the way she had been more and more with him as the week had gone on

"I'm fine" Taylor stole one last glance at Travis and his date before swallowing hard and then attempting to give Jason the attention he deserved.

"You look beautiful Taylor, do you know that?" He said it whilst taking hold of her hand and she blushed as he raised it to his lips and placed a warm kiss to her skin.

He wore a plain red t-shirt with 3 silver chains of varying lengths and loose fitting jeans, in the dim light of the diner she couldn't help but realise how handsome he truly was but still the butterflies remained dormant, she could only assume the jealousy that had just flooded her body had drowned them in her gut.

"Taylor I..." he heaved a huge breath in to his chest before releasing her hand and playing nervously with his napkin.

Looking out of the corner of her eye she caught sight of Travis and his date laughing loudly whilst sharing a bottle of wine and her chest began to ache at the realization that she would have to wait 3 long years before she could share an adult date like that with him.

3 years until they could share wine and laughs over dinner before heading home to lose themselves in the bedroom.

As she sipped bitterly on her soda she finally realised where he was coming from when he told her 'no' because he was a man and she... well she was just a naive young girl. Believing that just by being hot and being sassy she could end up with a man like him... She felt silly for ever thinking it.

Travis' date was far closer to his own age, maybe even slightly older.

Her hair was cropped short in a mature buzz cut that made her look edgy and independant.

Taylor couldn't see the name of the band on the front of her t-shirt but she didn't have to to know they would be way cooler than any of the music she listened to.

As the girl raised the glass to her burgondy pained lips Taylor couldn't help but hope that the next mouth full of wine choked her to death.

"Taylor where are you tonight? I feel like you're on another planet"

"I'm sorry Jase, it's been a long week, maybe I should have slept tonight and we could have gone out tomorrow"

"But today's our anniversary" he looked at her like a little lost puppy dog, begging her for some affection, some attention, she just couldn't find it in herself to touch him when she knew that Travis might see. So she sat there silent, letting the word 'anniversary' hang in the air as she took her food from the server and then attempted to eat it even though her gut twisted and turned under the weight of her thoughts

"So who's the girl?" Roozhans voice was deep and gritty but teasing as she smirked at her lifelong friend, the smirk turning into a wide smile as he curled one side of his mouth in to a smile and shrugged

"Don't give me that Casanova, you've been glancing over there every time you thought my attention was elsewhere and by the way she keeps looking at me as though she wants to rip my head off and scoop out my brains just for breathing the same air as you so I would say there's more to this story than just... "she lifted her shoulders to imitate his shrug

" She's just some girl I met at Northern Soul, she's sparky as hell, with a clever mouth, she keeps me entertained whilst I drink coffee and she's not hard on the eyes either"

Travis let his gaze once again flick to Taylor, she was dressed up, wearing a black halter neck dress, her long hair piled on the top of her head exposing her slender neck and the the luscious skin of her back to Travis' hungry eyes.

She was obviously on a date, but with who? Travis couldn't see that far into her booth

"No, she's hot, I give you that, I definitely wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating biscuits but she looks young"

"She's 18!" Travis' tone was more defensive than he had intended but he knew her age was always going to be the problem.

Roozhan nodded slowly, acknowledging that the girl wasn't a child, she was legal in almost every sense of the word

"So how far have you got with her?"

"I haven't 'got' anywhere with her" stopping dead in his tracks, Travis realised that he didn't even know the girls name. They had been flirting wildly for the past week, he had been to her house, met her mother how was it possible he had never even thought to ask for her name???

"You must be losing your touch Kelce"

"Like you said she's young, I don't need that kind of full on schoolgirl shit"

"Like you said, she's 18 and she looks like a goddess... What's really holding you back?"

Travis thought about it, Roozhan was one of his best friends, they had known each other almost since birth and they had gone through things together that no one else would ever understand, he trusted her with his life but part of his life he didn't want to share with anyone, didn't want anyone to know why he was back living with his mother like a delinquent teen instead of living out his dreams at college.

"Who's she here with? Can you see in to the booth?" Travis asked, craning his neck to see but seeing nothing but Taylor

"I can't see, even with my glasses my vision isn't that great but look, here she comes"

Travis and Roozhan both averted their eyes from the blond that was stalking their way stopping briefly at their table to shoot Travis a look she hoped would kill and then passing them by, heading towards the female bathrooms

The look on Travis' face told Roozhan all she had to know as she laughed a little and then motioned towards the bathrooms

"Off you go Casanova, go get your girl"

looking towards the booth Travis thought about it for a second, she and whoever he was had been on a couple dates, they had shared a couple of chaste kisses, it wasn't as though he was breaking up a happy home.

With that thought easing his guilt he slid out of the booth and headed for the sparky school girl that had been invading his thoughts for the past week.

Smiling from her seat into the recently vacated booth Roozhan couldn't help but raise her hand and wave, her eyelid dropping into a wink behind her glasses

"Hi Jason" She mouthed before shaking her head and laughing at the chaos that was about to ensue but she couldn't feel bad though, not for him, never for him.
