"Sara, hey Sara!" Jason had been out jogging for the last hour in an attempt to avoid having to hit his brother in his face when he saw Taylors best friend struggling down the street with her sports bag and hockey stick.
Crossing the road, he decided to take the opportunity to ask for some inside information.
"Oh my God, is thee Jason Kelce actually speaking to a mere mortal like me???"
"Don't get too excited nerd brain, it's through necessity not choice, obviously"
Rolling her eyes Sara flung her sports bag back over her shoulder and repeated his word back to him, 'obviously'
Jason moved from one foot to the next trying to find the words without seeming like a complete loser but in the end just decided to go for it, who cared what someone like Sara Song thought about him, it's not like her opinion mattered to anyone in the school, well anyone other than Taylor... Fuck! He was going to have no option but to play nice
"Did Taylor talk to you about our date last night?" he tried to sound as casual as possible but he was sure he sounded desperate.
Sara ground to a complete halt and frowned up at him
"What did you do?"
"I didn't 'do' anything" he added speech bubbles with his fingers and immediately wished he hadn't, he had just completed the loser look
"I didn't, why is that so hard for you to believe?"
"Because you're you"
"You don't know me" Jason knew to get closer to Taylor he had to keep her best friend on side but this girl had an attitude that rubbed him the wrong way and after everything that had happened last night his patience was wearing thin
"And for that I am eternally grateful" was Sara's sarcastic reply as she pushed past him but he reached for her arm and pulled her back
"You are such a bitch do you know that, no wonder no guy will go near you?!"
Sara pulled her arm away roughly and dropped her bag to the ground
"No guy gets near me because I have standards, now if you will excuse me I have a friend to find because from the sound of it her date last night was a complete car wreck due to the guy being a total douche bag" Sara glared at him, hockey stick in hand, ready to strike if he tried to manhandled her again but Jasons eyes dropped to the ground and he stuttered out his next question
"Has she spoken to you about Travis?"
Sara was surprised at the question.
Travis was just some college guy Taylor was hot for, he wasn't interested in her, he had made that more than clear so why was Jason even aware of him let alone asking about him?
"You arent getting any information from me Jason, speak to Taylor, Travis is none of your business"
"Travis is my brother"
Sara gasped in shock and then held the hockey stick tight to her chest as she began laughing uncontrollably and Jasons face darkend with fury.
"What are you laughing at you complete freak?"
"I'm sorry, you just... You couldn't make this up. You- 'Mr.I Run The School' lusting after Taylor who's been lusting after Travis who just happens to be your brother" again she began to laugh and again Jason considered grabbing the hockey stick and shoving it down her throat just to shut her up
"Fuck you Sara"
"No thank you, I don't want to catch anything" now red with fury Jason kicked her sports bag as hard as he could before storming away down the street.
He needed a shower and to calm down before meeting Taylor for coffee and convincing her that he was the only Kelce that she needed to think about
NORTHERN SOUL
"Hey you're Taylors friend right?"
Travis stood as the edge of the table looking down at the girl who was now looking up at him in complete surprise before nodding her head apprehensively
"Wow, 2 Kelce brothers in one morning, it must be my lucky day" she smiled sarcastically and then returned to the book she was reading. Travis shook his head at what was surely a mushy love story with a happy ending before getting to the point
"Do you know where Taylor is?"
"Yeah she's on her way here"
Travis nodded, sure she was on her way for a catch up with her friend and hoping he came out of the story of last night on top and not second to his little brother
"She's headed here for a coffee date, with Jason, your brother I believe, what a twist to the tale that was"
"She's what?!" Travis dropped down in to the vacant seat and glared at the girl who just peered at him over the top of her book.
"Sit... Please..." she rolled her eyes as Travis continued to look at her, his mind struggling to work out why that revelation had felt like someone had punched him in the guts.
Taylor and Jason were dating, technically, so a coffee date was obviously something they would do, especially after everything that had happened the night before, they probably had a lot to talk about but then so did he and Taylor and he hadn't heard a word from her
"Pretty small world isn't it, your brother wanting the girl that wanted you. It's a good job you don't do highschoolers, things could of got very messy, couldn't they?"
Tensing his jaw, Travis thought back to last night in Taylors bedroom, the twisting in his stomach at the thought of Taylor and Jason telling him things had already got way messier than he had intended
"Oh look, here come the high-school love birds now"
Looking to the entrance Travis watched as Jason and Taylor walked in hand in hand, the sight of which had him clenching both sides of his seat to stop himself from jumping up and ripping their hands apart
"Alright ass wipe?" Asked Jason smugley as he walked past his older brother, patting him on the shoulder whilst clutching Taylors hand tightly in his, Taylor just kept her gaze fixed firmly to the ground as she and Jason walked to the back of the Cafe and took their seats
"Wow, can you say tension much?" Said Sara whilst taking in the scene playing out in front of her and stifling a laugh
"Why do I feel like I'm in the middle of a B rate rom-com right now?
" This isn't a rom-com" sighed Travis "This is a disaster movie"
