Taylor Swift was in no mood to be messed with as she stormed down the corridor of her high school with one target in mind... Jason Kelce!

Usually at this time he would be waiting by the lockers looking for a kiss before classes but they hadn't spoken since the weekend, since his mother had come to his rescue and ended things between her and Travis.

He was avoiding her, she knew he was but now she wanted to know why and a whole lot more.

"Turner!" A tall blond haired boy turned to face Taylor in surprise "Where's Jason?" he shrugged and turned his back to her but that wasn't going to wash today so she grabbed his shoulder and spun him around to face her.

"I said...where. The. Hell. Is. Jason? And don't tell me you don't know because he doesn't take a shit without you knowing about it" the two other boys he was talking to laughed loudly and Ryder Turner turned red

"Sports hall" he spat out and then turned from her once more

"Was that really so hard?" Taylor asked whilst already walking past him and down the corridor in to the sports hall.

Pushing open the door she was met with the sight of Jason and another boy shooting hoops so she stalked across the court ordered the other boy to leave and then fixed Jason with a furious gaze

"Everything OK babe?" he asked whilst attempting to kiss her cheek but she raised a hand to his chest and pushed him away

"You are a fuckin coward Jason do you know that?! " he blanched at her accusation but the fact he didn't need told what she was referring to answered her first question

"You weren't man enough to to let me decide who I wanted to be with so you involved your mom?! Are you kidding me, what are you, 8 years old?"

Jason crossed his arms over his broad chest tensed his jaw, denying nothing and in the process confirming everything

"Why does your mom hate Travis so much?"

Jason turned away from her and began bouncing the ball slowly across the court

"That's family business Taylor, it's got nothing to do with you"

Following him, Taylor grabbed the ball and held it away from him when he fought to get it back

"You told her about Travis and me and she threatened him to get him to back off"

"Well maybe she was trying to protect you and not me" he reached his long arms out quickly and managed to grab the ball back

"Where have you been all weekend?"

"Busy"

"Avoiding me. Avoiding what you did"

"Think what you like Taylor, my mom knows Travis, if she said something to get him to back off it had nothing to do with me and everything to do with you"

"Did you think if you got rid of him I would automatically fall in to your arms?"

"Excuse me but I thought I already had you in my arms, we are dating aren't we?" the two stood staring each other down in the middle of the basketball court, fury blazed through Taylor as she considered how the man in front of her had caused Travis such pain, his own brother

" Were dating" her words echoed around the sports hall and hit Jason like a blow to the guts "I'm not having anything to do with someone that can do this to their own family, their own blood"

"Taylor..."

"I don't know what you and your mom think he's done to deserve this but no one deserves to be treated this way over something that happened when they were 7 years old and you will never convince me that they do"

"What did you say?" Jason stalked towards her stopping just inches in front of her "What did that son of a bitch tell you?"

"Nothing"

Reaching for her shoulders Jason held her firmly but made sure not to hurt her

"Nothing, he told me nothing I swear"

Letting her go Jason took long strides to where the ball lay before picking it up, throwing it with all his strength in to the wall and then exiting the hall, never looking back at the blond he was convinced he had now lost and hatred for his brother bleeding from every pore

Northern Soul

Travis was sat in the back of the Coffee Cafe at his usual table with his eyes closed, strumming his guitar, lost in his own little world, where life was so much more simple and didn't hurt him as much.

"Hey Travis" Sinu Swift placed a hand gently on to his shoulder as not to give him a fright

"Mrs. Swift... Hi"

"May I sit?"

"Of course, can I get you anything? A coffee or anything at all?"

Sinu took her seat and stared at Travis intently

"Taylor told me what happened between the two of you"

Travis simply nodded and looked down in to his coffee cup, unsure of what else he could say, he'd said it all to Taylor, nothing had changed

"I worry for you Travis"

Travis' eyes flashed up and locked onto Sinus, she gazed at him with such care, such concern, the way he longed for his mother to look at him

"I worry you don't have anyone to help you with whatever is going on in your life right now"

He simply shrugged, unable to speak, afraid the emotion he was feeling would betray him

"Taylor is a good girl, she's a handful, I know but you can trust her, you can trust us if you need someone to be on your side, we are here and we are willing"

Travis shook his head, unable to believe what he was hearing or the kindness that was being shown to him, it had been a long time since someone had looked past what they had been told and saw him and the way he found himself clinging to Sinus words was beginning to scare him

"Why?" his voice was shakey "You don't know me"

"Because I'm a mother and when I look in your eyes I see a little boy that's lost and looking for someone to love him, everyone deserves to be loved Travis, everyone deserves to be cared for and treasured"

"My mom doesn't think so, my mom doesn't think I deserve anything "

"I don't know what's going on in your family and it's really not my place to pry but if one day you want to unburdon yourself, I'm here and Taylor is here. She wants to know you"

"My mom won't let that happen, She wants Taylor with Jason"

"My Taylor makes her own decisions Travis, not even I get to do that for her"

Travis considered what Sinu was saying to him, what she was offering him, her and Taylor, they wanted to be there, to help but he had been on his own for so long he wasn't sure what that meant.

His emotions were pushing and pulling him like the most ferocious ocean current and usually at times like this he would look for a distraction, a girl to act like she loved him if only for one night, part of him was desperate to lose himself like that to forget himself and his life whilst the other half was desperate to find himself, with the help of the Swift women.
