Y/n's POV

Today's the day, i'm finally driving
up to Manchester, to have a meeting with Casey Stoney, about talks of their interest in me.

To say i'm nervous is an understatement, i'm absolutely bricking it. This is a potentially life changing and career starting opportunity for me, I just hope I get it.

I heard from Arsenal yesterday, because of Katie. They came back and told me that they did not have any spaces left for anyone to join the squad this season. Which is a little disheartening, but it's okay. I still have a potential chance today, with United.

The drive up to Manchester has been okay so far, I set off 7:30 this morning, to make sure I got there early, even if there were to be traffic or not, I wanted to still be early.

I made sure to dress smart, but not too smart, I went for some black suit trousers, black shoes and a white shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to my elbows.

I spent most of last night on the phone to Katie, because I couldn't sleep. As today got closer, Katie knew that I was getting more and more anxious about it all, and so she messaged me last night, or well, 2:47AM this morning to be exact, asking if I was awake.

Of course I was, she knew that, she knew that I was wide awake in bed, staring up at the ceiling, going into la la land, worrying and overthinking about everything that is currently happening in my life.

So Katie stayed on FaceTime with me all night, constantly reassuring me and reminding me of all i've done to get here, and it worked. I am a very lucky to have Katie McCabe as my girlfriend.

Eventually, I made my way just past Stoke-on-Trent, so just over an hour away from Manchester.

As each mile passed, I could feel the nerves setting in more and more, thinking more and more about what is about to happen.

I'm about to meet with Casey Stoney, head coach of Manchester United Women. A football legend, especially in and for England. And I'm about to meet said legend in a few hours time.

United, are very close to gaining promotion at the end of the season, that's if they continue the way they are, but if so, they'll be in the most competitive women's league, the Women's Super League.

And the fact that I could potentially be a part of that, it blows my mind, it's hard to comprehend that this is a possibility.

I know I said I need to remain calm about it, but the reality is, I am currently on my way to Manchester to meet Casey Stoney, to discuss myself as a player further so she can get to know me, but as well as a person in general and also for Casey to express why United are interested in me.

With me leaving relatively early, the roads were quite quiet, the M6 going into Manchester wasn't too bad either, but later on will likely be another story, as it'll probably be tea-time, or rush hour, when I set off back home. Everyone will be picking kids up from school, finishing work, or whatever, so god help me later on.

Eventually, I got myself into Manchester safely, the streets of Manchester were not too bad, with it being a weekday, most people are in work or school, so the worries I had of driving in such a big place, quickly disappeared as I drove through the city. It was now 10:30, my meeting was at 11:30.
