...
Birds gently chirp and flutter overhead, some landing on the tall tree branches and observing the area. Sunlight peeked through the few leaves still left on the branches, casting down its warmth onto (Y/N).
She sighs softly as she looks around, her eyes landing on a monarch butterfly as it lands on a tree besides her. (Y/N) smiles, reaching out her hand towards it.
It takes off flying as she longingly watches, the butterfly joining another. They twirl around each other happily, and fly away to freedom.
"You about done over there?!" Troy's voice snaps in annoyance, coming from the truck.
(Y/N) looks back, rolling her eyes lightly at the man.
"Yeah!" Sarah quickly replies, emerging from the bushes and zipping up her pants. "One second!"
She turns to (Y/N), smiling. "Thanks for coming with me. It's scary out here. I know they made you, but... It's still nice that you came."
(Y/N) offers a small grin, "hey, thats what friends are for, right? We look out for one another."
She double-finger guns at Sarah jokingly with a wink, making her face light up as she giggles.
(?) Sarah will remember that
"Yeah... We are friends, aren't we?" Sarah smiles widely, nodding. "Well, if you need to pee, let me know. I'll keep lookout for you, too."
(Y/N) snorts, nodding. "Okay, Sarah."
The two make their way back to the truck, Troy, Bonnie, and Carver waiting outside.
Troy smirks when he notices them, walking over to meet them. "Everything come out all right, girls?" he speaks in a low, creepy tone.
(Y/N) cringes with disgust, rolling her eyes as Sarah frowns at Trevor.
"Troy, get them tied up," Carver barks, scowling at the man before taking out his radio.
"Will do," he replies, nodding as he turns to Sarah while taking out some rope.
"Well, we're on our way," Carver speaks into the radio. "Probably thirty minutes out. Make sure everyone's prepped. Emotions might be running high. Carver out."
Sarah winces with pain as Troy roughly handles her, looping rope around her wrists.
"If I found out you've been wasting fuel to keep that fucking heater going, I'll make you walk back," Carver snarls at Troy, scowling.
"Nope. Froze my ass off, just like you told me to."
(Y/N) blankly stares at the radio in his hand, Carver noticing and arching a brow at her.
"It ain't polite to listen to other folks conversations," he speaks lowly in warning. "Has anyone ever taught you that? Where's your manners?"
(Y/N)'s eyes flick up to meet his, scoffing and glaring sharply at him. "I know. But I also know it's also not polite to kill and kidnap people. Where's your manners?"
(?) Carver will remember that
Carver's brows raise in surprise for a moment, amusement in his eyes as he smiles warmly and slowly walks up to her. His hand rears back, and the backside of his hand collides with the side of (Y/N)'s cheek.
The force makes her fall to the ground as she yelps in pain and surprise, gasping as she sits up quickly and holds her cheek.
"No, stop! Don't hit my friend!" Sarah shouts, her voice trembling.
