(Y/N) looks up at the small shack with sad eyes, a tinge of guilt twisting her gut as she thinks about Matthew.

The group catches up, Rebecca panting with exhaustion as she nearly collapses sitting down on fallen log.

"Who the fuck... Was that back there?" she questions between pants, holding her aching back.

"I don't know," Luke honestly replies, his own breathing loud from the brisk walking they did.

"Looked like he had a gun on you," Alvin points out, his brows furrowed.

Luke glares over his shoulder at Nick.

"That asshole drew on me!" Nick defends, his eyes wide and brows furrowed. "He was about to shoot!"

"Oh, was he?" Luke questions light heartedly, scowling with a scoff.

"I'm telling you man, he drew first!"

"Well, that's not what it looked like to me."

(Y/N) and Clement exchange an uneasy expression, Alvin's eyes flicking down between them.

"What did you two see? Was that guy gonna shoot?" Alvin questions softly.

Before either could reply, Nick grits his teeth in anger. "Fuck you, Luke! You've been on my case the whole week!"

Luke angrily laughs, "and why do you think that is, Nick?"

"Because you're an asshole?!"

"Either way!" Luke snarls, shaking his head with clenched fists. "You could have hit one of us!"

Nick scoffs, rolling his eyes. "Yeah, but I didn't!"

"Look," Luke exhales sharply, his eyebrow twitching. "I-- I know Pete was close to you, Nick, but you can't--"

"Don't fucking talk about him!"

Carlos, who had been silent until now, steps forward. "Do you think he was with Carver?"

"I don't know," Luke snaps, huffing as he unclenches his fists. "I... No. I don't think so. But he fell over," he continues in a more soft tone.

Alvin's brows raise up to his hairline. "He fell off the damn bridge?"

"We have to keep moving," Carlos insists impatiently, glancing over his shoulder warily.

"I can't," Rebecca weakly speaks, shaking her head as she holds her stomach. "I need a minute."

"... Fine," Carlos reluctantly agrees, eyeing Nick for a moment before turning to Luke. "Luke, can I talk to you alone?"

Luke glares harshly at Nick before nodding, following Carlos away from the group. Nick grinds his teeth with a huff, turning and stomping over to a bench in front of the shack. (Y/N) frowns as she watches him for a moment, sighing and turning to Clement's uneasy expression.

"Hey, kids?" Alvin calls, making the two look over. "You got anything to eat? Bec's dying here."

"Alvin, I told you, I'm fine!" Rebecca sighs, Sarah sitting down leaning against the log next to her.

"Sorry... I don't have any food for you," Clement rubs the back of his neck with a frown.

(Y/N) slides her bag to her front, looking through it and frowning as her shoulders slump. "Same here. I'm sorry."

"Wish we still had those juice boxes," Alvin sighs wistfully.

"Yeah, me too," Sarah chimes in sadly, staring down at her shoes as she hugs her knees to her chest.
