Please, let me be
Free to do whatever I please
These parties aren't wearing me down
It's your constant criticisms making me frown
You have no right to intrude in my life
"We're just concerned" and yet I've learnt
Your life's not exciting, so you're living through mine
So, I like a small drink but that makes you think
I'm an alchy?
I drink, I don't smoke, I certainly don't toke
What a joke to assume I'm below you in life
When you cheat on your wife,
Get high on your lies,
It's you that's despised
I've got 70 years to fulfil all my plans
But instead of help with my dreams
It just seems you're like weeds
Trying to succeed in bringing me down.
I won't drown
