I was walking right beside my brother as we entered the paddock in Bahrain. He turned his head to me and gave me a sweet smile. Though some might see that as a nice gesture, I recognized that smile as in 'please don't do anything crazy while you're here'.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" His smile fell into a fake shocked expression as I questioned him. I gave him a laugh.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Though before I forget, try not to compare yourself to me, everyone can't live up to my achievements no you know." I rolled my eyes and gave him a glare.

"Fuck off, you know how nervous I am. Don't make it worse." He exhaled loudly and he brought me into a hug before heading over to Ferrari.

"You've never listened to me, why start now?" I gave him a smile and nodded.

"Thanks." Carlos was out of sight when Daniela came up to me. She's my manager and coworker, but most importantly my best friend. She was a few years older than me, five to be exact, but that didn't stop us from becoming close friends anyway.

Daniela Rodríguez was the the kind of friend who's your friend but at the same time your older sister. She always helped me with anything I needed. Clothes, girl drama and boyfriends. And god did I need help with the last one.

"How's my girl doing? You got in all right?" I gave her a big smile as she walked beside me toward Mercedes. I took a deep, shaky breath before answering her.

"Yeah, just trying not to freak out, how do you think I'm doing so far?" She could probably tell by my look just how nervous I was.

"Not so good. Honey you need to relax. This is what you've dreamed of." I nodded to her, thankful for her company more than ever. There were already a lot of cameras and photographers around us.

We walked together into the Mercedes garage. I was hoping there would be a lot less camera there. I met Lewis in a hug. We hadn't had a lot of time to get to know each other yet, but he'd been incredibly welcoming.

"My favorite driver's finally arrived!" He exclaimed and I laughed a little in his embrace. "Are you excited? Nervous?" I nodded, answering both of his questions.

"Pretty much everything you could feel ever, is somewhere inside me right now." He let out a chuckle.

"That's understandable, but you'll do great tomorrow." I nodded, taking in his words and trying to calm myself down. Today was Thursday, meaning we had media day. Tomorrow was my first official day if an f1 weekend, and the thought made the butterflies in my stomach flutter like crazy.

I couldn't wait.

"Natalia, how are you feeling about racing against your brother? Doesn't it feel strange entering his world like this?" To say I was annoyed with all these questions asked by men, was an extreme understatement.

"I have to say I'm deeply grateful for this opportunity. Tough I can't agree with the fact that it's his world. As for now it's our world and I'm happy to be sharing it with him." Some guys laughed to my answer, though the man behind the question only nodded and looked for next question between his papers.

"And how do you feel about joining such a mans dominated world? You are after all the first woman to ever drive in formula one." I nodded slowly as I listened to the question and smiled when I thought about the position I was in.

"I feel it's incredible to represent every woman out there who dreams of driving in this sport. I know it places a lot of responsibility on my shoulders but it's a job I'm gladly willing to take as I've been dreaming of this my whole life." The man accepted my answer and I turned to my side looking at Anastasia for approval. She gave me a thumbs up and a smile and I moved on to answer more questions about how I'd entered "all alone in a world of men".

I realized, when me and Anastasia walked around the paddock, how much I enjoyed this environment. Everyone from the different teams, walking around, working. The feeling of it was nice, familiar in a way.

"So, tonight you need to get some good sleep. You know the times of everything tomorrow, right?" I nodded. "Good, so go home now and be ready tomorrow and I'll pick you up so we can come here together, yeah?" Daniela looked at me for a second before she had to answer something on her phone.

"Sounds great, Dani. Thanks."

I was supposed to head back to the hotel right away, but of course Carlos was late. We had agreed to go together and therefore I hadn't taken a car of my own. And that meant I had to wait for him now that he was late.

He came walking to me with his phone plastered in his face. "Well hello," I exclaimed and that when he turned his head up to me.

"Hola, how's your day been?" I broke out in a smile at how much I enjoyed my life at the moment.

"It's been good. Beside all the sexist comments from the interviewers, it's been wonderful." He gave me an understanding smile and we walked to his car.

"I'm sorry. You'll show them all tomorrow." I nodded and hoped he was right.

I spent the rest of my night ordering room service, doing skincare and trying to sleep. The last one took me at least an hour and a half. I couldn't sleep when I realized I was actually going to drive the car tomorrow.

I fell asleep full of excitement.

"Actually I'm gonna pick up some things from a friend on our way there." I told Carlos okay and then put my seatbelt on. He jumped in the car in the drivers seat.

"So who's this friend? A new girlfriend, perhaps?" I asked him and wiggled my eyebrows. It made him laugh a bit.

"Not so much. Unless you think of Lando as a little feminine, which I do sometimes. Though not really girlfriend material if you ask me," he said and a picture of the man he was talking about popped up in my head. I sighed out loud by the name of him.

"Maybe a little feminine yes, but I'm glad you've found your girl brother." I heard his laughter as I picked up my phone.

"Maybe I'll tell him that. You'll be in big trouble." I shrugged and scrolled trough my instagram feed to see if there was something interesting there.

"You do that, god knows he needs to hear it." I joked and Carlos laughed again. Soon enough we arrived to another hotel near ours. Carlos runs out to meet Lando. The curly haired man is already standing by the entrance. He hands Carlos a bag of clothes I suppose and they exchange a few words.

Then Lando switches his eyes to mine. I hold his eyes for a few seconds and expect him to nod or something similar. He doesn't, instead he turns back to Carlos says something and then walks inside again.

The cameras were on us as soon as we stepped out of the car. They threw questions out to us both, hoping for answers. They'd didn't get any as we waved trough the crowd.

"Okay then, may the best sibling win." I rolled my eyes and gave him a serious look.

"Oh, I will. Don't you worry." Then I walked inside the Mercedes garage to find Dani. She was sat with her computer in her lap on the couch. Once she saw me her face lit up and she walked to me.

"Hey! You ready for today?" I nodded to her.

"I hope so." She raised her eyebrows with a smile on her face.

"After this practice we really need to work on your confidence. You hope so? No, you know so."

"We have our eyes on our Mercedes rookie today. Natalia Sainz is driving out of the garage, ready to smash her first season. Boy are we looking forward to see what she can do!"
