I went out of my room and downstairs with sleepy eyes. The clock was close to ten and I expected to find someone awake but when I arrived to the kitchen, I found it empty. I went straight to the glasses to find a clean one and I filled it with water.
I emptied the glass in a second before waking out to the living room. I'd always had two types of hung-overs. One of them was where I could eat just about everything I saw, and the second one, the one I had today, was where I was close to throwing up by even looking at something edible.
I figured I could spend some time outside which was why I went to the living room to reach the door to the patio. I turned to the couch when hearing a sound and saw my best friend snuggled up with one of the McLaren drivers. Not the unbearable and disgraceful one that I spent last night with, but the sweet and calm Australian. Dani was deep asleep in Oscar's arms and I tried everything to not wake them up. Successfully I went out quietly without them hearing me.
To my surprise though, it wasn't empty outside. There was the unbearable, disgraceful driver I had hoped had gone home last night. Or at least to his hotel room. "Don't you have somewhere else to be?" He turned up to me, also with a glass of water in his hand.
"Like where? On the street?" I shrugged to him and sat down by the table.
"Works for me," I said simply. He chuckled but didn't say anything. "I meant more like your hotel room, giving us a little peace around here?" He smiled satisfied.
"Sunshine, this is my hotel room this week." I let the nickname go, tried to focus on the other part of that sentence. When he saw my confused and irritated face, he continued. "Carlos invited me to stay for the weekend."
No no no
"That's probably a mistake, let's get you out of here," I said and got up to take his arm. I tried with the power I had to drag him up but it ended up with him dragging me down and suddenly I was on his lap.
He leaned in to my ear. "I'm staying here this weekend Nat, get used to it." With his words I stood up and just shook my head before sitting down in my chair again.
"So rude," I sighed and took a sip of my water. He just laughed.
The door to the living room opened and out walked Carlos with his hair tousled like he'd slept in the woods. I laughed when I saw him. "Good morning," I just said and he almost stumbled to sit next to me by the table. He didn't answer though, he just dropped his face down into his hands and took a few breaths.
"Too early," he simply said then.
"Just one little thing, what went through your head when you invited that to stay with us for the week?" Now he turned his face up. He looked at me, then at Lando, and then back at me.
"What would it take for you two to get along?" He sighed with a tired face.
"A lot, she's an annoying version of you." He just shrugged. I gave him a glare and then turned to Carlos.
I pointed at Lando. "Unprovoked, do you see what you force me to spend time with?"
"Could you stop referring to me as an object?" I turned to him with another glare and then looked away again.
"I will when you start acting like a decent human being," I fired back and he shook his head.
"Alright, let's get inside. I thought I'd try and make some breakfast." I nodded to Carlos with a laugh held back.
