PERCY

PERCY WAS LIVING THE IDEAL LIFE OF A DEMI-GOD CAMPER. He didn't share with anybody anymore, got to sit at his own dinner table, pick all of his own activities, call "lights out" whenever he felt like it, and follow his own rules.

But, he was absolutely miserable.

Just when he started to feel accepted, to feel at home in Cabin Eleven, he'd been separated as if he had some disease.

The worst part of it all was that he was separated from Lana.

He'd missed walking back to the cabin with her, whether it was to grab something one of them forgot or to hangout before their next activity. He missed eating dinner with her, the two of them exchanging information about one another or trying to see how many raspberries they could fit in their mouth.

Without the comfort of Cabin Eleven, Percy thought that it would put a small tear in the friendship they were slowly building.

The other campers steered clear of him as much as possible. Even his old cabin was too nervous to have a sword class with him, so his lessons with Luke became one-on-one.

Percy was thankful that Luke was still willing to teach him, but he slowly began to dread them when Lana began to join in on their practices.

The two boys were dueling with one another, practicing different drills and skills that Percy had just learned. The younger boy was drenched in sweat as the sun continued to beam down on his back, but he continued to push forward.

He wanted to show Luke that he was a strong learner.

Lana later approached the two with her orange camp shirt on and a pair of denim shorts. Her hair was tied back in its usual ponytail and a practice sword was presently in her hand.

"You're late." Luke said while he and Percy were still sparing. He then knocked Percy's sword out of his hand and it clattered to the floor. Luke straightened. "Where have you been?"

"With Annabeth. We got caught up in talking about books." She approached the two, twirling her sword in her hand.

Her older brother shook his head. "Just get over here. Me and Percy were just practicing some new skills he learned."

"Sounds good." She stood across Percy with a smirk and he gulped. "Ready to do this, Water Boy?"

"Do I really have a choice?" His question was answered when Lana swung against him. He quickly moved his arm to dodge the attack, but she was quick with her next swing.

The two engaged in a fight, Percy slightly stumbling on his feet as he continued to block Lana. He could barely make any strikes against her since her ambushes come right after each other.

With Lana's fighting style, she uses more than just her weapon. She exerts her body in every inch of her body. Her legs, her feet, her fingertips, she utilizes every aspect of herself in a fight.

Her sword continued to move at the speed of light and the Son of Poseidon was beginning to get tired, his body slowly draining of all of its energy. She edged closer to him, forcing him further into the arena.

Summoning all of his willpower he began to wildly swing his sword and regained his confidence in their battle. The tables turned and she now had to block all of his attacks.

"One more thing..." Luke began, circling their fight with his hands clasped behind his back. Percy stopped to focus on what he was saying. "Never turn your back on your enemy."

Lana swung her sword sharply, an animalistic look behind her darkened eyes. Percy blocked it at the last second, but missed her next sneak attack. She kicked her foot backwards and hit him square in the chest. He stumbled backwards and she took advantage of his moment of weakness. She twisted her sword against his and it clattered to the floor with ease.
