Everyone knows Adam, right? The first man Adam, the first soul to enter Heaven Adam, the original dick Adam, he comes in many names (Most, he gave himself), but almost everyone knows him as the Angel who doesn't think that redemption is possible.

But he didn't always used to be that way. There was a time when Adam was more...gentle, kind, and more open minded, he still enjoyed the thrill of the exterminations, but he didn't enjoy seeing those souls suffer.

And during that time, he even fell in love with a gorgeous human.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named (Y/N). She had always been hurt by both her parents and other people, but she had always tried to help anyone in need. Even if some people would always try to take advantage of her, she would persevere. Her spirit was like a flame that refused to be extinguished, no matter how strong the winds of adversity blew against her.

One night, (Y/N) walked home from her friend's house. Technically, she couldn't call them friends since all they would do was take advantage of her kindness and make fun of her life while they themselves lived in filthy apartments and had disgusting habits. They mocked her altruism, saying she was naive and foolish. But (Y/N) didn't let their words pierce her heart. She believed in the goodness of people, even if it was hidden deep within.

As she walked in the pouring rain, her clothes clinging to her skin and her hair plastered to her face, she came across a homeless woman huddled under a broken awning. The woman didn't look too good, shivering from the cold, her face gaunt and eyes sunken with hunger and exhaustion.

"Please, miss," the woman called out in a frail voice. "Do you have any spare change? Anything to help me get through the night?"

(Y/N) looked at her, feeling a deep compassion well up in her chest. She could see the desperation in the woman's eyes, a mirror of the countless times she had felt abandoned and helpless herself. Without a second thought, (Y/N) reached into her pocket and gave her all the money she had, even though it was barely enough for herself.

"Here, take this," (Y/N) said softly, pressing the crumpled bills and coins into the woman's trembling hand. "It's not much, but I hope it helps."

The woman stared at the money in disbelief, her eyes welling up with tears. "Thank you, thank you so much," she whispered, clutching the money to her chest as if it were the greatest treasure she had ever received.

(Y/N) then looked at the umbrella she was holding, the only thing keeping her somewhat dry. Without hesitation, she handed it to the woman. "And take this too," she said, her voice gentle but firm. "You need it more than I do."

The woman took the umbrella, her hands shaking. "I... I don't know how to thank you," she stammered, her voice choked with emotion. "You're so kind... so very kind. People like you are rare in this world."

(Y/N) smiled, though the rain continued to pour down on her. "And if you want, there's a homeless shelter that just opened a few streets down," she said, pointing in the direction. "I volunteer there from time to time. They should be able to help you find a warm bed and a hot meal."
