Three weeks had passed since I turned human, and we had been making plans with Paul. I had been learning some basic spells from him, while William had been traveling, making allies. Almost everyone he encountered agreed to help get rid of the queen. Aaron had been teaching Liv and I some basic sword fighting, and we had been teaching him how to prepare bandages and medicine.

At the end of the third week, William came back. He ran in, breathless, while Liv and I were training.

"We need to leave, now!" He shouted.

Liv and I looked at him, shocked. "What do you mean 'now'?" Liv asked. "We aren't ready!"

"She's right. We don't have enough training, or supplies. How are we supposed to fight?" I agreed.

William strode towards us. "We don't have time to continue training. The Queen is planning an attack on our allies when they're separated. We have to launch the attack now."

Liv and I looked at each other.

"We don't have time to sit around thinking about this! It's now or never. Go get Aaron and Paul. We leave at sunset." He turned on his heel and left.

I looked to Liv. "I think we should go with him. You know that if we don't, he'll leave alone. And he'll probably end up getting killed."

She sighed. "You're right. This just doesn't feel right. It feels like something is going to go wrong, and we'll end up dead anyways."

I laughed humorlessly. "Either way, we're probably going to end up dead. You know the queen. She won't stop until our heads are on a silver platter."

Liv smirked. "Then I guess we'll have to get her head first."

Sunset was approaching rapidly. We were sitting on horses, waiting for the army that William had said was coming. He was facing the sea, looking for the ships. Aaron was looking out to the forest, where the rest of the armies were coming from.

Suddenly, Aaron shouted. "I see them! They're coming! The armies are coming!"

William laughed. "I told you they would. Now all we need is the ships."

I scanned the horizon. There wasn't any sign of the ships. "William, what if they don't come?"

"That would be very, very bad," he said, not taking his eyes off the ocean. "They contain one-third of our allies; without them, we won't be able to win."

I turned to Paul. "Isn't there anything you can do? Don't you have a spell to see where they are?"

"Little fish, I am not a psychic. My magic can't locate a hulking mass of wood. However, if I have an item from someone on one of the ships, I can do a tracking spell to locate them."

"William, don't you have something from the king? A medal, pin, anything?" I was getting desperate.

"I have his signature. Is that good enough?"

"Let me see it," said Paul. He held out his hand impatiently. "Now would be preferable boy."

William fumbled in his saddle bag. "Here."
