After dinner, I retired to my room, where a dressing gown and chemise was waiting for me. I changed, and went over to the window seat. I sat down, and looked out the open window. William was walking along the edge of the water.
I smiled. William was quite handsome, and I had some strange, new feelings.
He glanced up at the full moon, turned, and saw me staring at him through my window. He smiled at me and waved. I jumped slightly and waved back before retreating from the window. I walked over to the wardrobe and opened it up to. Inside, it was filled with dozens of dresses.
Dresses of every color, style, shape and size looked out at me. Teal, purple, gold, green, everything!
I was amazed. I couldn't believe that all of these were for me.
I was going through the dresses when a knock sounded on my door. I closed the wardrobe.
"Yes?" I asked.
Standing there was none other than Prince William himself. "Hello. I'm sorry for disturbing you, but, may I come in?"
I opened the door wider. "Of course Your Highness."
He put his hand on my arm as he was passing. "Please, call me William."
When I turned around, William was seated by the hearth, poking at the dying embers.
I walked over and sat on the sofa. "Is there something you wanted to talk about You- William?"
He looked up and joined me on the sofa. "Yes. I wanted to ask you, do you remember anything, anything at all about yourself? Your name, home, family, reason for washing up on the beach."
I racked my mind to see if I could remember anything. My childhood, life, world, I couldn't recall any of it. I shook my head sadly. "I'm sorry William, I can't remember."
I punched the pillow next to me. "It's just so frustrating, not being able to remember anything about who I was. I don't even know my own name!"
William grabbed my hand and rubbed it. "Shhhh, it's going to be okay. However, I do need something to call you, can you think of anything?"
Again, I searched my brain for anything. A name, a single name came to my mind. "Erin," I said.
"Erin it is then."
