It was early morning. Jay woke up, and checked his phone.
6:45
You have no new messages.Jay sighed, and got out of bed. Putting his new clothes on.
Soon. Jay left the apartment. And drove to the district.
Jay arrived at the district. And walked up into the bullpen.
The unit were all sitting at their desks. When they noticed Jay.
"Hey!" Adam smiled.
Jay smiled at all his co-workers. And took a seat at his desk.
"You okay. Halstead?" Hank asked.
Jay looked at Hank. And nodded.
"I'm good! Just trying to keep busy!" Jay nodded.
Hank nodded, and walked back into his office.
"You heard from Hailey?" Kim asked.
Jay shook his head, and spoke.
"I've been keeping my cell on charge. Hoping she'll call. But. Nothing yet..." Jay admitted.
Kim nodded, and focused back on her paperwork.
Later on. The unit were all at a crime scene. Which was about a murdered tender age. Male.
"He was shot. Point blank." Melinda responded.
Jay crouched down, and noticed the boy's ID.
"This boy was wearing ID. Name is: Andrew Travers." Jay read out.
"Smart parents." Antonio commented.
Jay nodded, and handed the ID to forensics.
"Could you put a rush on that?" Jay asked.
Susie nodded, and rushed off.
"Okay. We got a child victim. These cases can be hard. We do our Jobs, and have time to grieve later. Let's find the parents of this boy." Hank ordered.
The unit nodded, and walked back to their vehicles.
Kim and Jay were walking up to Andrew's house. And knocked on the door.
The door clicked open. And the mom was looking at the two officers.
"Officers? Can I help you?" Marissa asked.
Kim and Jay sighed, and Kim spoke.
"Ma'am? Can we come in?" Kim asked.
Marissa nodded, and stepped aside.
Kim and Jay walked in, and shut the door.
"Ma'am. We found your son." Jay started.
Marissa walked to the lounge, and got her husband.
"Graham! They found Andrew!" Marissa called.
Graham trotted downstairs, and spoke.
"You found our boy? Where is he? Is he okay?" Graham asked.
Jay looked at Kim. Who looked down.
"Sir. Andrew was found dead in the alley..." Jay replied.
Hearing about their son's murder. Marissa collapsed into Jay's arms.
Jay held Marissa close, and he tried so hard to keep the tears from flowing down his face.
"I'm so sorry..." Jay whispered.
Marissa sobbed heavily, and held Jay close.
After Awhile. The unit all finished solving the case. And went home.
Jay on the other hand. He wanted to stay, and do overtime.
"What have you got for me today?" Jay wondered.
Trudy looked at Jay, and spoke.
"Honey. I can't keep giving you OT. You need sleep..." Trudy replied.
Jay shook his head, and spoke.
"Don't worry. I'll sleep when I get home!" Jay smiled.
Trudy sighed, and handed Jay a slip.
"Drunk and Disorderly. Over on 6th." Trudy responded.
Jay thanked Trudy, and walked out of the district.
Soon. Jay walked back in with the drunk and disorderly, and went to get some more OT slips.
Trudy put the slips down, and spoke.
"Nope! You are gonna go home. And get that ass of yours to bed. I'm not giving you anymore OT slips." Trudy explained.
Jay sighed, and grabbed his Jacket.
"I'll get a patrol car. Marked outside your door if you prefer?" Trudy offered.
Jay shook his head, and left the district.
After 45 Minutes. Jay arrived home, and settled on the couch.
Jay was watching some movies. Which were his childhood favourite. He Just wanted Hailey snuggled up to him. To make it better.
