Jay was on his way to the district. When he noticed his sister.

"Mel?" Jay whispered.

Jay pulled over, and got out of the car.

"Mel!" Jay called.

Melissa noticed her brother. And she ran over.

"Jay! It's Dad! He's gone crazy!" Melissa exclaimed.

Jay pulled out his radio, and spoke.

"This is 5021 George: I need cars to 1900 South Cicero. Male in distress. Standby for details." Jay radioed.

Melissa and Jay ran towards their dad's apartment. And Jay walked inside.

"Dad?" Jay called out.

Smashing was heard. And grunting.

"Mel. Stay out here. You don't need to get hurt." Jay spoke quietly.

Melissa shook her head. She was going with her brother.

"Alright. Keep down." Jay ordered.

Melissa nodded, and walked slowly into the lounge.

As the siblings walked inside. Pat was smashing some boxes.

"Dad! Put the boxes down!" Jay ordered.

Pat looked up, and noticed his son and daughter.

"You can't be here!" Pat exclaimed.

Jay put his gun down, and tried speaking.

"Let's just go outside..." Jay suggested.

Pat shook his head, and lit a match.

"NO!" Jay shouted.

Pat lit the box on fire. Which lit the floor on fire.

"Dammit! Dad!" Jay sighed.

Jay pulled his radio out, and spoke.

"5021 George: Roll me CFD. My current location is on fire. I repeat. My current location is on fire." Jay explained.

"Copy That. All units. Officer in need of assistance. At 1900 South Cicero. CFD is on route." Dispatch radioed.

Jay had some training in fires. So, he knew what to do in this sort of situation.

"Okay! Melissa. I need you to take dad outside. Keep back. Backup. Will be five minutes." Jay instructed.

Melissa nodded, and took Pat outside.

Once Melissa and Pat were outside. Jay tried putting the fire out.

"Fuck!" Jay cursed.

The fire hit Jay in the legs, making him scream.

"AHHH!" Jay screamed.

Jay Jumped out of the way, but ended up bumping into a cupboard.

The cupboard fell onto Jay, making him fall onto the floor.

Jay fell unconscious. The fire burnt half of Jay's legs.

Hank. And the unit were soon outside. And Kelly. And his squad walked in.

"Find him. Please..." Erin begged.

Kelly nodded, and held Erin's hand.

"We're gonna do everything we can. Erin." Kelly promised.

Erin nodded, and hugged Hank tightly.

"They'll find him. Kid..." Hank promised.

After a few minutes. Kelly walked out with an unconscious Jay.

"There's Jay!" Kevin pointed out.

The unit all rushed over, and noticed Jay's burnt jeans.

"His legs have been burnt..." Antonio pointed out.

Kelly placed Jay onto the stretcher. And Brett gave orders.

"Okay. I need the intubation kit. Jay's not protecting his airway. Let's cut his clothes." Brett ordered.

Violet nodded, and began intubating Jay.

After. Violet cut Jay's clothes. And noticed how burnt his legs was.

"He has full thickness burns on his legs. That's the most severe burn. The rest of his body is fine. We have to get him to Med." Violet instructed.

Brett nodded, and wheeled Jay into the ambulance.

"Who's riding with him?" Brett asked.

Erin got into the ambulance. And held Jay's hand.

"Your gonna be okay. Babe. Your gonna be okay." Erin sniffled.

The ambulance doors closed. And Brett drove straight to Med.

"Let's Go!" Hank ordered.

The unit all rushed to their vehicles. And drove to Med.

Jay was soon in a hospital room. Gowned up. After his burns were gently washed.

"He's sedated. He will be for awhile. We'll know more when he wakes up." Connor explained.

Erin nodded, and bit her lip.

"But. He'll be okay, right? He'll be able to walk?" Erin hoped.

Connor sighed, and spoke.

"As I said. We'll know more. When he wakes up. In the meantime. All you can do is wait..." Connor responded.

Erin mumbled, and held Jay's hand.

"I got you. Jay. Your gonna be back to your fighting weight soon." Erin chuckled softly.

The unit walked into the room. And noticed Jay's burns.

"Damn! That fire. Really did a number on him..." Adam winced.

Hank nodded, and kissed Jay's head.

"Your okay. Kiddo. Your safe now..." Hank whispered.

After Awhile. Jay was awake. But he couldn't feel his legs.

"Legs. I can't feel my legs..." Jay mumbled.

Erin rubbed Jay's shoulder, and whispered.

"Yeah. You were in a fire. Baby. Your legs took the brunt of it..." Erin explained.

Jay broke into tears, and whispered.

"I'm gonna be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life!" Jay sobbed.

Erin held Jay tightly, and rocked him gently.

"It's okay. Baby. I got you. We'll try, and get the wheelchair held off." Erin suggested.

Jay sobbed into Erin's arms. and held her arms.

"Shhh...." Erin shushed softly.

Erin lied against the pillows. Letting Jay lie on her chest.

After a few minutes. Erin managed to send Jay to sleep.
