- Kita's POV -
I sat under my favourite tree in the field at Inarizaki High, my stomach rumbling but as I opened my bag I sighed, realising I had left my bento at home. The last thing I wanted to do was to go to the school cafeteria and buy food, after all it wasn't very nutritious or even tasty. Just as I was about to give in and stand up, knowing I'd have to buy food if I wanted to eat, a voice sounded next to me. "Hello... did you forget your lunch?"
I looked up to the source of the voice and I could make out the silhouette of a girl; the sun was shining so strong behind her that it was difficult to see her features, but it made her look like an angel. "Pardon?"
"Oh, I'm sorry... it looked as though you forgot your lunch," she sat beside me and I was able to see her better. She had (h/l) (h/c) hair, framing her (face/shape) perfectly. I particularly noticed her sparkling (e/c) eyes.
"Yes, I have," I said simply and for some reason I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
"I have far too much for just me... would you like some?" She asked politely, opening her bento box and my mouth practically watered as I saw my favourites, them all poking very delicious.
"Are you sure?" I asked and she smiled, nodding and pushing the bento closer to me. I took one of the mini onigiri's and bit into it skeptically but my eyes widened at how delicious it was. "My name is Kita," I bowed.
"I'm (y/n) (l/n), it's a pleasure to meet you."
"You're the new student?" I realised and she smiled, nodding. "Welcome to Inarizaki High School."
"Thanks... it's different from my hometown so it's taking some getting used to... I'm a country girl really so the city is new to me," she said, her voice soft. We were silent for a moment as we shared her delicious food, and her company made me feel relaxed. "I hope you don't mind me sitting here and talking to you... you seem like the type of person that likes to be by themselves," she added.
"It's okay, I'm glad of the company," i admitted and she smiled again. Something inside of me felt warm as I watched her for a little while. She was interesting and intelligent judging by the way she spoke, and something about her made me unable to look away.
Lunch seemed to fly by as we talked and got to know each other a little bit. I cracked and ever so small smile as she waved and walked back to the school once the bell had rung, a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach.
- Timeskip -
It had been a week since we met and everyday we had come to share our lunch under the same tree in the field. We'd take turns to cook and I felt happy when she'd praise my food and listening to her talk was melodic, however she was currently complaining. "The teachers have been telling me I need to hurry up and pick and extra curricular activity. The student council seems like too much pressure and most of the other interesting clubs are full. I was going to pick a sports club but I learnt that I'd have to wear shorts and sleeveless tops so I decided against it," she huffed.
"What's wrong with shorts and sleeveless tops?" I asked plainly and she stuttered.
"Er- nothing... I just don't like showing off too much skin," she muttered.
"That explains why you're wearing tights even though it's 29 degrees. Why don't you like showing skin?" I asked.
"Erm... do you mind if we don't talk about it?" She muttered awkwardly, curling in on herself.
