Note: Fluff OVERLOAD
My best friend, Rio Nakamura, packed my beach bag for me whilst I sat on my bed reading. It was our last summer in high school so my friends wanted to celebrate by going to the beach but I was a little anti-sociable. All I wanted to do was lay in the sand and read my book, perhaps getting a tan whilst I was at it. A part of me didn't want to go but I didn't want to let the girls down - they were all keen for me to go hence why Rio was here packing my bag for me.
"Yada's brother will be picking us up and dropping us at the beach. I've not seen him in ages, he's so hot," Rio said dreamily.
"He is quite good-looking. Why don't you talk to him?"
"I think he has a girlfriend," she pouted and I rolled my eyes, then turning my attention back to the book. "Plus there'll be plenty of hot guys at the beach! You have to promise me you'll speak to someone."
"Why? Can't we just have a girls time?" I whined, not wanting to socialise with anyone new.
"We can, but today our girls time includes helping each other pull guys. There'll be at least one that will catch your eye I promise you," she smirked, throwing me a bikini from my wardrobe.
"I doubt that," I scoffed, putting down my book and turning my back to my friend before changing.
"Oh please, guys spend all year preparing for a day like today - to go to the beach and show off in front of a group of hot girls like us," she teased as I tied my bikini in place. "Here, wear this over the top until we get there," she then threw me a shawl to wear around my waist.
"Perhaps... even if I do see someone I like the look of there is no way I'd approach them," I tied the shawl and checked myself out in the mirror.
"You have to! Any guy would be crazy for you, I mean can you see yourself in that mirror?" She teased, standing beside me. She took a quick mirror selfie to mark the occasion before getting a text from Yada saying she had arrived. "Beach time!"
"Beach time," I repeated, trying to be enthusiastic. On the way out of my room I picked up a book from my bookshelf and slipped it in my bag without Rio's knowledge, the two of us clambering into the car and heading to the beach to meet with the rest of the girls.
- Timeskip -
We found the rest of our friend group halfway down the beach, them having set up an umbrella and several towels. They had blown up rubber rings and beachballs, and Meg had even brought a sun lounger with her. They eagerly pulled the three of us in for hugs when we arrived and I set down my beach towel, rummaging in my bag to find my book.
"Have you got your eyes on any cute boys yet?" Rio asked Hinano excitedly.
"There are a few around," she smirked, subtly pointing to a few groups. I rolled my eyes and sat on the towel, taking off my shawl so I could soak up some of the sun. A part of me couldn't concentrate on my book as I found it almost comical listening to the girls rate the guy out of ten but then they all fell silent, this catching my attention.
I looked up to see a four boys walk past our group, one of which turned and sent us a wink. All of my friends swooned and I did admit that he was good-looking - he wad bouncy brown hair that was swept to the side, a cheeky smile and eyes that could hypnotise you however as I looked at the four boys there was another that caught my eye. I had to bite my lip as he had broad shoulders and despite wearing a top it was clear he had pretty distinct muscles. He had tanned skin, short brown hair and a slightly stern looking face but I felt as though I couldn't take my eyes off of him.
