45: Ryunosuke Tanaka - The Fool

Note: this is set after the timeskip!

 Hand in hand we collapsed on our newly built sofa, the two of us sweating slightly after a day of hard work. Ryunosuke Tanaka and I had been together for two years and had finally made enough money to pay for our own flat. I worked in a cafe and he was a personal trainer at our local gym. The jobs paid okay but renting a place of our own was expensive and when we finally could we were relieved as we had been living a Ryu's parents place and Saeko always liked to poke her head into our relationship. Now we had the privacy we craved.

We had spent all day unpacking our belongings and despite not having much nor it being a big apartment we were still pretty worn out. "Takeaway?" Ryu suggested, neither of us fancying cooking.

"Hm, you read my mind," I agreed happily and he ordered from our favourite takeaway place. "Are you happy? With this flat, I mean," I asked and he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me closer.

"Of course I'm happy. Just glad we could get out of Saeko's way. Don't be surprised if she makes random appearances though," he sighed. "You're happy too right?"

"I couldn't be happier," I kissed him sweetly. I had fallen so hard for him, having feelings for him for ages, even when we were at school together. He rarely noticed me back then however as he was too obsessed with a girl he used to have feelings for - Shimizu. She was very pretty, and she was manager of Ryu's volleyball team so they saw each other all the time. I knew I couldn't compete so I tried to move on until I started going to the local gym and saw Ryu working there. I was surprised when he recognised me and after a few sessions he suggested going out for a proper catch up. A few dates down the line I admitted my old feelings for him and how they might be resurfacing, he accepted me and two years down the line we were incredibly happy together.

I couldn't quite believe my luck and I was scared about something coming along and ruining it all but it was a thought I pushed to the back of my head. Today was a happy day after all, we were moving into our own place, about to start our lives together.

- Timeskip -

"(y/n), I'm back!" Ryu called out as he entered the flat.

"You can say 'I'm home' you know," I pointed out, walking from the kitchen to the porch to meet him.

"Sorry, still trying to get used to it," he admitted. It was strange, us having our own place together but I was happy. "I've got some great news!"

"Oh?"

"I've been offered a promotion! One of the managers has moved to another gym and they offered me an interview for the role!" He beamed brightly, puffing out his chest proudly.

"That's amazing Ryu, I'm so proud of you," I immediately pulled him in for a passionate kiss that he was all too happy to reciprocate. "I think this calls for a celebration," I whispered, my arms still hung around his neck and our bodies pressed against each other's.

"What did you have in mind?" He whispered back and I could tell what he wanted.

"I didn't mean that idiot! I meant going out for food or something!" I hit his chest and he laughed.

"Okay, sure, but after?"

"Fine, after," i specified and he nodded like a happy dog. We shared a kiss before getting ready to head out for a celebratory meal.

After searching through our wardrobe me and (y/n) had decided I needed a new suit for the interview. (y/n) had to work so I decided to head into town to find myself a new shirt smart enough for the interview I had approaching. I was surprised (y/n) trusted me enough to find one by myself, but I was determined to find one she'd approve of.
