Note: I actually found this quite hard to write so apologies if you think Tendou is out of character at any point!

"He's already annoying me and he's only been here a day!" I growled angrily, sat at one of the lunch tables in the large cafeteria with my two best friends: Rio and Yukiko. I was complaining about my brother who had moved out a year ago with his girlfriend, but was now back and living with my family again due to them breaking up.
"Serves you right for not getting a dorm here," Rio teased, knowing that I wish I could've had a dorm on campus like her and Yukiko but my parents weren't willing to pay due to the fact I lived so close to the school.
"He's already teasing me about Satori!" I whined. "He claims he wants to meet him, to make sure he's 'good enough for me' or whatever. Like he had a right! Satori's perfect, I don't need my brother chiming in!"
"Perfect... really?" Rio asked and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yes, really," I said defensively about my boyfriend. "Ugh, (b/n) is just so infuriating! You know he's always pestering me? Even whilst I'm at school he's messaging me, look!" I held out my phone for the girls to see. "He doesn't give me any personal space. Can't he just back off? He's like a leech I can't get rid of! Not only that but he's always sweaty from working out, I swear he doesn't even know what a shower is. It's seriously gross," I huffed, ranting away.
"Well he probably just cares about you," Yukiko said.
"'Care'? Feels more like suffocation," I scowled.
"How about you hang out with us tonight. Saves you from having to see him?" Rio suggested and I sighed.
"Thanks girls, but I'm gonna go watch Satori play. He's got a practice match tonight, so I want to be there to cheer him on," I smiled, wondering if he was practicing now.
"Aw, you're so smitten," Rio teased, nudging my shoulders. I felt my cheeks heat up but it was true - Satori and I had only been together for a month but I was already certain that I loved him. Because of this I unlocked my phone and scrolled through my gallery, smiling at some of the fun selfies we had taken together.
- Tendou's POV - - A Few Minutes Earlier -
I was keen to find (y/n) and invite her to lunches practice, wanting to show off my blocking skills. She was my first girlfriend so I was keen to impress, but I was also nervous as I never thought of myself as boyfriend material. Deep down I was self-conscious about myself, but I tried not to let it show on the surface.
I knew where she and her friends usually sat during lunch, so I headed in that general direction and was able to hear part of their conversation before actually seeing them. "You know he's always pestering me?" It was (y/n) speaking, and I stopped in my tracks to listen. "Even whilst I'm at school he's messaging me, look! He doesn't give me any personal space," She was obviously irritated and I felt my stomach drop. 'I always want to be in her presence, I'm always messaging her even at school... am I a bother to her?' My thoughts were whirling but what she said next hurt the most. "Can't he just back off? He's like a leech I can't get rid of! Not only that but he's always sweaty from working out, I swear he doesn't even know what a shower is. It's seriously gross."
This made me realise she was talking about me. Everything added up - I was borderline obsessed with her, I texted her all the time, I wanted to talk to her all the time, I worked out at volleyball practice to the point where I easily worked up a sweat and she found that gross. She found me gross. She thinks of me as nothing more than a leech.
