TW for this chapter: Rape, mentions of rape. Violence and death - as per usual.

Let's see Hathor's journey to ruin Seth's plans for world domination, starting with the destruction of a soul connection.
Will she figure out what's going on on time, and will she be able to stop it on her own?

Leaving Horus to rest in her room, Hathor went to the Fates' hall and pulled out the priestess' name Faaria. That was the girl who died in her temple in Dandara. She remembered her. She was always happy, always smiling, singing, dancing, arranging flowers. Who would kill her and why?

Pulling on the last string she teleported to the temple on the night of the killing. Faaria and her chosen partner Bahar were holding each other outside the temple doors. They looked so beautiful together, they reminded her of the way she acted around Horus - in love. Pure love. Then another human showed up out of nowhere and she could already see his heart was corrupted. He was up to no good. Did Seth do this? She kept watching until they entered the temple.

Once inside the man started pulling onto the girl's clothes and saying terrible things. She kept trying to resist him but was too weak. He brought in company and Hathor couldn't bear watching. She skipped the scene until she saw the girl die. The moment the knife entered her skin, Hathor felt pain. That was not normal. This girl was a mere human. They weren't connected. Unless Seth did something. She moved back a little bit relieved to see the men who were surrounding the woman didn't do anything. The priest was the one to pull her clothes and kill her but thankfully he didn't disgrace her body. She moved to the next scene where the boy was dying and heard every word out of the vile human's mouth. She knew it wasn't true. Faaria didn't give in. She didn't give her purity away. Hathor could feel it. She decided to turn back time on the line and rewatch all of Faaria and Bahar's moments together. They were so sweet, so nice, so in love, by the end of it she was almost crying. They didn't want this life. They were craving to be together. She moved forward to the moment Bahar got stabbed.

"I've wanted her for years." The corrupted man said. "I can't believe she gave herself to someone as low and poor as you..." he moved closer, spitting venom as he spoke " Do you know what it's like to want someone from afar, boy? Do you know how much it hurt to see her smile because of you, or because of the Goddess, or the flowers, or the sky, or the sun, but never because of something I said?!"

Who was he to speak like that? Hathor thought to herself and ground her teeth.

"I had to go on pretending for years that I didn't notice the way her dress hugged her body or the way her sweat was trickling down her neck in summer when all I wanted to do was grab her and lick it off of her. Heavens, so many dreams of her body I've had, and It wasn't enough to sate me, and in the end, I still lost to a boy like you... Was it nice? When you got to do it? Was she quiet or loud? Mm? You don't have to tell me... I tried before she closed her eyes forever, but it wasn't as fun as I thought It would be... She died too fast. I couldn't even unfasten my tunic-"

Suddenly the boy - Bahar pulled himself out of the priest's grip and punched him in the face, with all the strength he had.

Good! Hathor thought. Someone had to put him in his place.

The man was visibly surprised, but then smiled ominously, wiping the blood off his face.

" Does that bother you, boy... That I tried to have your girl...? Well, I couldn't, but you know what? She's dead" - he whispered with an unsettling grin. The blood, still dripping off his chin." And If I can't have her, you won't have her either " and then - he slid his throat.

Hathor couldn't watch it. It was so vile and so wrong. She saw the boy sliding to the ground. He looked visibly scared and shaking. He was losing blood too fast. And he kept saying Faaria's name. Hathor did the only thing she could think of. She approached slowly and kneeled near him.
