Alberu sat down on the hill next to Cale. They were exhausted from paperwork and they both wanted to take a nap. The children crawled into Cale's lap as Cale leant against the trunk of the tree. They had really needed to touch grass.
Alberu watched the stars swirl and slide under the clouds. The moon sparkled as Alberu's eyes followed it's crescent shape. Clouds danced under the night sky. They must've been out here for hours. Their sweaty clothing that clung to their skin from hours in an office behind a desk, now cooled. Alberu pulled the wonky, wrinkly clothing away from his skin and let it rest against himself.
Alberu flopped down on the grass, his hands flat on his stomach. His hair had grown too long and touched his shoulders, causing a halo of hair around his head when he laid down. His eyes widened as a shooting star parted the sky like a stone in water. He closed his eyes quickly, making a wish before opening them once more.
"Aren't the stars beautiful?" Alberu smiled up at the sky, enamoured.
"...yeah....they're incredible." Alberu's focus snapped like rope too taut and he looked over to his workaholic dongsaeng. His idiot little brother. His second in command.
The red head looked down into his own lap, fingers gently rubbing Hong's ear who snored quietly. He gently slipped his hand underneath the small red fluffy body and shifted him over to his back. Raon's tail, who was getting slapped by Hong's tail moments before, curled and Raon's claws held it to himself. Ohn sucked up her drool and buried her head into Cale's leg.
Cale's eyes held a soft tenderness as he looked at his children. A special gentleness he kept for the children. Alberu sometimes caught glimpses of it when Cale started to daydream about being at home with the kids. His dongsaeng was a sap.
He made sure to tell him too. Cale looked up at him with a fake wronged look. Alberu scoffed and rolled his eyes. Cale kicked his leg, and he kicked him back. They both looked at each other with annoyed expressions that melted away into matching smiles. Cale pulled the kids out of his lap and into his arms.
"It's curfew. Ron's orders." Cale shrugged.
"Of course you still have a curfew. Bed time too?" Alberu teased. Cale shrugged again with a lopsided smile.
"You need one." Cale said simply before turning on his heels and walking back out of the Forest of Darkness and into the Black Castle. Alberu looked at the sky a final time before following his dongsaeng. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to continue messing with him, could he? Otherwise he could lose the hyung card.
