Kim Rok Soo woke up to the smell of fried garlic. His stomach grumbled. He looked over to the clock hanging on the wall. The short hand pointed at three like an angry mother.

He pushed himself off the bed and stumbled out of the bedroom. Lee Soo Hyuk hummed a popular song under his breath as he added his green vegetables. He looked over at the thump and the cursing. Kim Rok Soo held his foot in pain.

"Did you stub your toe dongsaeng? Does it hurt?"

"Does it hurt?!" He mimicked in annoyance. He then paused. It didn't. Not really. He shook his foot before walking over to Team Leader. He leaned on his shoulder. He smelled like garlic and trees.

"You're not very bright Team Leader." Choi Jung Soo said, mid-yawn. He didn't know what happened, but he was always up to some friendly brotherly banter. He grabbed onto both men and messed with Kim Rok Soo's hair.

"You're so disrespectful to your hyung." Lee Soo Hyuk grumbled jokingly under his breath, tapping Choi Jung Soo's nose with the wooden spatula. He yelped loudly and clutched at his face in pain.

"AH! HOT!!" He fell backward, tears threatening to pour from his eyes. Lee Soo Hyuk dropped his wooden spatula and knelt in front of Choi Jung Soo, panicking while trying to soothe. Kim Rok Soo jumped towards the pan, avoiding charcoal for lunch and then rushed towards the fridge.

"Why did you do that?" Choi Jung Soo whined, wounded from the warm red spot on his nose.

"Holy shit, I forgot it was hot, I'm sorry, don't worry you're fin-" Kim Rok Soo pushed a cold drink towards Choi Jung Soo and gently rested it against his nose. Choi Jung Soo shuddered before breathing out in relief.

Kim Rok Soo patted his back before a snort escaped his lips. Choi Jung Soo looked at him conflicted. On one hand, it was great he was laughing, his Kim Rok Soo! On the other hand-

"Shit! You're burning your food!!" Choi Jung Soo said startled as dark smoke started to fill the roof. Lee Soo Hyuk stood up quickly, hitting his head on a table.

"You deserved that bastard." Choi Jung Soo mumbled under his breath as Lee Soo Hyuk hissed and rubbed at the top of his head.

Kim Rok Soo put a hand over his face, but laughter escaped anyways. He fell on his knees and his rambuctious and pure laughter filled the room. He tried to stifle it, but almost ended up choking on his laughter.

"Pfft." Laughter bubbled up from Lee Soo Hyuk too. Choi Jung Soo ended up getting infected too and he laughed hard. All three men were on the floor, laughing. Kim Rok Soo leaned onto Choi Jung Soo as he clutched his stomach. Lee Soo Hyuk laughed so hard, he forgot about his cooking again.

His cooking.

"IT'S STILL BURNING!!" Choi Jung Soo pointed. Lee Soo Hyuk squealed in alarm, before turning off the gas and picking up the pan. He put it under the tap and poured running water. Kim Rok Soo continued to cough as the smoke disipated and steam filled the room.

Both of the younger men stood up and looked over their team leader's shoulder. They stared at the charcoal themed mess in the pan collectively.

"It looks like it's about to call you daddy bro." Choi Jung Soo said in disdain. The charcoal mess seemed to stare at them. When it moved towards Kim Rok Soo, Lee Soo Hyuk threw it in the bin.

"...so take out, anyone?"

The dark of the night, complimented by the moonlight was what the open windows let in. Cale felt stuffy. Was this the night he finally cried? Properly? Apparently it was important to cry to stay healthy. If this was what he had to to not exercise, he'd try.

"Please." Cale whispered. But after those two, maybe three, more like two and a half tears escaped, his eyes dried. There was nothing else. After all this time, he could only manage three tears for the two of the most important men in the life he used to live. The two men who somehow manage to tolerate him. If he was going to cry, shouldn't he go the full mile?

But no matter what, his eyes refused to tear up anymore. Was he incapable? Was it a mental problem? Just when he wanted to.

He only wanted to for curiousity. He wasn't going to let it in his way of productivity or anything. He wasn't asking for a mental breakdown. Why couldn't he cry?

Then he felt a clawed paw touch his leg. Raon just brushed past his leg. He looked down at the little black dragon. His claws were curled into a fist and his eyebrows knitted together. His soft and chubby jaw was as tight as it could get. He looked annoyed. Vicious. (Cute.)

A nightmare? Cale pulled the little kid onto his lap and gently stroked his back. He watched as his nose crinkled and he turned to his side. He swatted at something and his tail uncoiled. Was this nightmare also about the Venion bastard? Raon had been doing amazing with those, and treated them like a nuisance. But it always made Cale treat him just a little better.

The great and mighty Raon Miru then mumbled.

"No mommy... don't wanna eat green Choi Han. ...tastes like old shoe." The great and mighty Raon Miru had recently lost a tooth, so he pronounced his o's with a whistle. Cale froze. He blinked rapidly.

"What the fuck?" Cale said out loud, his dumb founded. His bees wildered. His gob smacked. He snorted. He snickered. He then breathed out deeply. No, he couldn't laugh. He needed to be quiet.

And then he saw Raon put his hand in his mouth and lightly chew. He lost it. He laughed. The same pure and rambuctious laughter from that day. In another person's voice, it sounded nicer. Less deep and annoying. The sheer shock he felt laughing his laugh, his Kim Rok Soo laugh, in Cale's voice, it only fueled his laughter. He laughed and laughed, struggling to keep quiet.

Raon lifted his head, dropping his claw from his mouth. He smacked his lips and slowly readjusted to his surroundings. He looked up at his human who couldn't control his laughter. Red hair tickled Raon's nose as Cale bent over him. His human wasn't just chuckling, making an evil laugh, or chortling. He was full on guffawing.

Raon looked at him with awe and shock. Then he giggled too. Soon his other kids woke up to the two laughing to the point of tears. Raon having no idea why he was laughing, caused the other kids to poke at their human. Cale gave them a big grin after calming down before he started to tickle them.

Why? He wasn't sure. But he wanted to hear them laughing. He wasn't alone. He watched as they squealed and giggled, kicking their feet. His laughter stirred up again. Raon attacked him with a pillow, which caused him to target Raon too. Soon the whole room was full and loud with unbridled joy.

It was worth the scolding and weeks of lemon tea Ron gave him.
