Cale pulled his hair into a ponytail that laid limp against the nape of his neck. He fixed the commander's jacket's clasps and walked out of the kitchen to see Choi Han. Choi Han was putting a beanie over his ears and smiled at Cale.

"Ready to go Cale-nim?" He smiled like a puppy and leaned down for Cale to pat his head. Cale pat him once and then took out the cintami. That meant yes. Choi Han stared at Cale before finding a scarf and wrapping it around his neck. Cale blinked as his neck got covered, then his nose and his cheeks.

He could barely see over the scarf. He sighed, before opening the portal. They waved to the rest of his family. Ohn and Hong wrapped their arms around Cale and Cale held them tight. Raon then flew into his head with a full body hug. Cale sighed against Raon's stomach then held him too.

"I'll get you souvenirs, don't worry." Cale fluffed their hair and carressed Raon's scales. He took a step back and nearer the portal. They waved excitedly. "Let's go." Cale nodded over to the portal and they went in. The portal closed too, and everyone dissipated from the scene. Everyone, except for Beacrox.

Beacrox continued to stare at where the portal was. They were leaving again. They did this every Friday dinner. At first, he was annoyed they were skipping a meal every week. But then he overheard them one night after their little endeavour. They weren't skipping a meal, they were skipping his meals.

"Stop fighting with him." Cale stripped the jacket off his shoulders and hung it on the jacket hanger. He shot Choi Han a glare, and Choi Han looked down like a scolded child. Or even a kicked puppy. "It's annoying."

"That's not fair, he's annoying!" Choi Han defended himself like a child. Cale ignored it.

"Arguing is the worst sound to eat to." Cale said simply. "You shouldn't eat dinner in an angry environment."

They're going to eat somewhere else. Eating dinner with someone else. From someone's food. Beacrox considered who this chef was as he cut the chicken into small chunks. The knife slammed into the wooden cutting board every minute and he threw the chicken into a pot of water.

This chef... Was he a faster chef? Did he make tastier food? Was he nicer? Was he more professional? What type of food did he make that Beacrox couldn't?

He imagined the two of them eating at a restaurant, or worse, someone's home. A home chef... The absolute worst. What if the kitchen was still messy when they sat down to eat. What if he didn't serve his food, just plopped it on a plate. What if he doesn't care for measurements.

Choi Han banters with him too.

Beacrox's chopping became faster. He slammed down the knife through the chicken in one clean chop and tossed it in. His chopping became stronger too, he put more force behind it. His eyes grew stormy, but Beacrox hadn't realized.

At least he didn't banter with Choi Han anymore. He was more mellow, like a normal person. He didn't get ticked off with every little thing, and he no longer seemed as two-faced. (He is bantering with the other chef in front of Cale, so clearly he's not hiding it anymore.)

They spar almost every time he asks too. And Beacrox has been getting stronger. Quite a bit stronger. Choi Han didn't act like he was better for being closer to Cale and snubbing him. He just nodded to every request, and sparring with no effort. Like he was thinking about something else. It was infuriating.

He was also less annoying now. He stopped sneaking into the kitchen and trying to steal food. He didn't try to cook in the kitchen. He even started wiping his feet when he came in the door, and showering after some outside interactions.
