HOSPITAL ROOM

The woman from the burning floor lies in the hospital bed, with a nurse attending to her. The door of the room opens, revealing Mike waiting with some flowers. The woman sits up more, seeming awed by meeting him. "You... you're... oh wow, you're him."

Mike smiles kindly to her, walking further into the room. The nurse excuses herself and leaves the room, as Mike holds out the flowers to the woman he had saved. "I'm glad you're doing okay."

"Oh yeah," she nods, taking the flowers from his outstretched hand. She stares at him for a moment, "uh, thank you, they're beautiful."

The nurse closes the door, leaving the two alone. The woman laying in the bed looks at Mike more seriously now instead of her awe stricken act. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I don't know where to go, Doctor," Mike says, nervous about all of what he's been doing lately, "everything's getting ...I-I know what's right, I do. But no one will listen to me." Mike looks up, more certain of his words now, "I volunteered because you said things would change."

The woman climbs out of bed, standing in front of Mike, "and you said you could keep it together. Our first subject lost it, walked into the lab with a freaking bomb."

"I'm not like him" Mike denies, shaking his head.

"Well tell that to your foreman, in the I.C.U," she rebuttals.

Mike semi roughly grabs the woman's shoulders, pulling her closer. "I saved you," he strongly reminds her.

She forces her arms away, stepping back. "You exposed me!" She declares. The woman sighs, walking around Mike to check out the window and down the hallway. "You exposed the program." She turns back, "the people who gave me this technology, they are very serious and they do not want to be revealed. Mike Peterson needs to disappear."

"You're right," Mike nods, "I'm not him anymore." He steps closer to the woman, "I'm someone else now."

The woman scoffs, "oh please. You're juiced, Mike." Mike walks away as she follows him. "And you're losing it, just like the last guy." She shakes her head angrily, "this is a disaster."

Mike stands by the open window, turning his head to look at her, "no. It's an origin story." He jumps onto the window ledge and jumps out of it, leaving the woman dumbfounded and annoyed.

CALIFORNIA ALLEYWAY

Skye's van sits in the alleyway once more as Skye works inside it. She flicks a few switches, as she talks on her cell phone. "Audio file should be coming through. It's not compressed so it might take a minute."

THE BUS – LAB

Fitz walks in the lab of the bus, also on his cell phone. A beeping sound comes from the side computer, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm getting it."

He runs over to another computer, and presses a few buttons. "So, uh, when – when you get back, I'll show you my thing." Regret covers his features as he stammers over himself to correct the wording, "a thing. It's not... It's my hardware." Fitz pauses, the words not any better, so he tries again, "my equipment." Still not better as Fitz mentally hits himself, "let's hang up."

He quickly takes the earpiece phone out and throws it onto the counter. Turning around he pauses for a moment before returning to work.

ALLEYWAY

Skye removes the phone from her ear, looking at it confused but ends the call.

THE BUS

Fitz walks past Jemma and Coulson, still flustered from his earlier words. Jemma sits at her work station, as Coulson watches over her shoulder. She wears her lab coat and protective glasses, as she uses a drill to cut into the piece of metal they found in the explosion.
