Chapter 43 Episode 18 –
News footage of Washington, D.C. is on, three helicarriers crashing into each other, the Potomac and Triskelion.
"We should've seen HYDRA coming," Hill admits, her voice heard but the woman not seen.
THE FRIDGE
"But after D.C., they don't stand a chance," Hill explains.
Grant takes out the I.C.E.R. guns, shooting the two S.H.I.E.L.D agents unconscious. "Especially since Rosalie told everyone now."
TEN YEARS AGO FLASHBACK
Garrett and Grant sit in the woods. "John Garrett does," Coulson declares with his voiceover. "And you're telling me Rosalie knew all along?"
"Yeah...she knew about HYDRA for about four months...kept everyone safe...." Hill confirms. "Don't worry about Garrett, Rosalie is handling him."
IN THE WOODS – Chapter 47
Garrett now stands in front of Grant. "If you're gonna work within S.H.I.E.L.D for HYDRA, you can't ever get attached."
THE BUS – Chapter 47
Holloway holds the knife to Rose's chest, the woman groaning from the growing heat. Fitz and Jemma stand in the pod, locked inside. Grant stands in front of Holloway and Rose, a fire of anger dancing in his eyes as he is forced to watch hopelessly.
"I'm feeling gratious," Holloway says. "I'll give you two a fighting chance."
"Whatever issues you have with Mama Ro and I, keep it between us, there is no reason to bring Fitz-Simmons into this," Grant tries to negotiate.
"Oh but there is." Holloway shoves Rose to the ground, quickly hitting the eject button for the med pod.
Fitz gives a final shout, looking at the mother-son. "Keep her safe, Ward!"
The pod drops into the ocean, sinking to the ocean floor. Water particles move through the air, sending Rose into an overdrive state as she wipes Holloways memories.
TEN/FIFTEEN YEARS AGO
Astral Rose wraps a gentle arm around Young Grant, the young man unaware of her presence but hears her voice. "You can beat this," Rose assures, the young man relaxing a bit. "Be strong."
Astral Rose appears beside the more present day Grant, her hand gently hovering the gun. She looks at the man kindly. "You're better than this," she urges, an echo to her voice. "Choose who you want to be. Not who someone else wants you to be."
UNWRITTEN PART OF THE BOOK
Mike holds up a mirror, looking at his changed reflection. "You're still Mike Peterson," Skye urges. "You have a son."
Chapter 1 –
Mike and Ace stand in front of the store window, the father-son enjoying their moment. "You and me – what are we?" Mike asks.
"We're a team," Ace replies, smiling at his father.
Chapter 35 –
Mike hides in the green shrubbery, watching children playing with their parents. Mike takes out a note. Can I please see my son?
'NOT YET'
Chapter 40 –
Rose holds her phone to her ear, Steve beside her. Clint is on the phone, painting and out of breath. "It's Ace," Clint says. "He was taken two days ago."
"What?" Rose asks. "How and by who?"
Chapter 46 –
Garrett and Rose stand in the kitchen of the bus, the woman becoming fidgety about being cooped up. "I have no reason to escape when you have a trigger waiting to be pulled on a young boy," Rose points out. "You took an innocent child from my protection."
"Because I had you taken out of the equation," Garrett says smugly.
Chapter 47 –
Raina works on the metal compartment that keeps Garrett alive, Skye's voice heard. "Garrett doesn't want GH-325 for his Centipede soldiers. He wants it for himself."
Raina injects the drug into the yellow fluid, the mixture becoming purple.
"What are you feeling?" Grant asks.
"The universe," Garrett replies, wonder in eyes and awe in his voice.
