Skye stands at the bar, gathering her three beers. She walks away, heading over to Rose and Grant. A small robotic vehicle coasts along the bar counter top, delivering drinks. The three team members pause for a moment, watching it coast by. "The bartender seemed chatty," Grant takes note, a hint of jealousy in his tone. But only Rose picks up on it.
"He's in computer sciences," Skye informs the two. "Didn't take long to convince him I was a Level 7 CS operative," Skye boasts proudly. "And guess where I'm stationed."
"The Sandbox," Rose states. She takes her beer from Skye, a small grimace on her face. "It's a smart play."
"I asked him if any of the cadets had hopes on getting assigned there," Skye tells them.
"Any takers?" Rose asks. Grant nods in understanding.
"Behind me," Skye informs, "the curls."
Grant and Rose scan the boiler room, finding Callie at a pool table.
"Callie Hannigan, right?" Rose asks.
"Yep. Ambitious, gunned hard for getting assigned to The Sandbox," Skye informs. "And apparently word's gotten around she lost the top spot."
"She was at the pool," Grant recalls.
"But didn't want to get in the pool right away," Rose reminds them. "Go talk with her, Grant," Rose orders.
"Why can't you?" Grant asks.
"Because she's going to be with me," Skye argues.
"And because I'm the scary Avenger," Rose builds on Skye's case. The heroine pulls Skye away, both women laughing at Grant's perplexed look.
They make it to a table, still laughing at Grant's expression. "There's something I'm going to tell you," Rose sobers up with her laughter dying out. "And you need to keep it to yourself, May and Grant are the only ones on the team that know this." Skye does the same, looking at Rose with curious eyes. "You know I have new powers, one of them is telepathy," Rose reveals quietly.
"What!?" Skye asks, excitement clear in her voice. "Oh my god, that's awesome. Wait, why are you telling me this?" Skye asks.
"Because I'd like to go through your mind and try to find something on your parents," Rose gently tells the hacker.
"Really?" Skye asks hopefully. Rose nods. "Please do it," Skye pleads.
Rose holds out her hands, Skye placing her own in the heroines. Rose's right eye glows gold, Skye breathing out a small breath of amazement.
A little baby girl is held in a woman's arm, but her face is blurry. A man stands behind the woman, smiling down at the baby. His face is also distorted. A blue dripping icicle necklace comes into the baby's view. It's placed around the little baby's neck, as she smiles.
