"It's an object of unknown origin," Rose fills in. "Kind of like my powers. Kind of like you."

INDOOR POOL

Three people walk through a dark hallway, entering the pool area. The lights from the pool reflect the water, casting a blue glow throughout the room as very little sunlight shines through whatever windows there are. "I completely blew the question on Von Neuman's Entropy," a female voice says, as she and her friends walk together. "Freaking thermodynamics."

"The test is over, Callie," a male voice replies. "Just let it go," the male advises.

"Yeah," Callie scoffs, "that's easy for you to say. You probably aced it."

The young male seems to be a teenager, shoulder length hair. He turns to walk backward, facing Callie. "What you need is a little distraction," the boy suggests, as he removes his clothes while they grow closer to the pool.

"This will distract me just fine," Callie holds her beer can up. The other girl with them removes her shirt as well, as she bounces on her feet with excitement.

Another boy sits in the pool bleachers, glancing over at the trio of friends. But he averts his eyes back to his tablet, working on something.

"All right," the boy says, pulling off his pants as he's left in his boxers, "well suit yourself." He jumps right into the water, the other girl tossing her shorts aside and jumping in as well.

"Whooo!" The boy cries out with glee. "Come on, Callie! Live a little. The water's great," the boy encourages his friend, splashing some water towards Callie.

"What are you waiting for?" the girl calls out to Callie, swimming further from the pool edge.

"Callie, relax!" The boy tells her, whipping his wet hair back from his eyes.
