Echidna Warrior Vs Rooster & Mole Bounty Hunters

Outside of the forest, there was a wanted poster that had a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog, and what looked like a winged hand took the poster off of the tree. Turns out the winged arm belonged to a Mobian rooster named Scratch (voiced by Phil Hayes), and next to him was a Mobian mole named Grounder (voiced by Garry Chalk), and they were both bounty hunters. Scratch: "Take a look at this, there's a big bounty on this hedgehog's head." Grounder: "Really?, how big is it?" Scratch: "Hmm... 1,000,000,000 dollars!" Grounder: "Wow!, that's a big day's pay!" Scratch: "You know what this means..." Grounder: "Yeah!... uh... no..." Scratch: "It means that load of cash will be ours if we capture this hedgehog." Grounder: "Oh, well why didn't you say that?" Scratch: "Never mind... first we gotta find him... but how...?" suddenly, a group of S.W.A.T. bots appeared, ready to capture the two bounty hunters. Grounder: "Uh... aren't these some of Robotnik's machines?" Scratch: "Well of course!, now we run for it!" said Scratch, before he and Grounder make a run for it, trying to escape from the robots. That was when Sonic and Tails came to the scene and trashed the robots into many pieces. Sonic: "Hey are you two okay?" asked Sonic to the two bounty hunters. Scratch: "Uh yeah, I believe so." Grounder: "Hey, you're Sonic the Hedgehog!" Sonic: "You've heard of me?" Grounder: "Yeah, we were gonna find you to..." Scratch: "Join your team, yeah, and stop that evil Robotnik guy." Grounder: "We were?, but I thought the plan was..." before Grounder could finish, Scratch placed his wing on the mole's mouth to shut him up. Scratch: "Don't mind Grounder here, he's a bit of... how do you say... a dimwit." Sonic: "Yeah, I can tell... well welcome to the team." Tails: "Wait a minute Sonic, we just met these guys." Sonic: "I know, but they're fellow Mobians, and you trusted Mario and Luigi enough to let them join us when we met them right?" Tails: "Well... that's fair... but I got this feeling that these two are up to something..." Sonic: "Don't worry, if they do pull anything... Knuckles and I will deal with them." Tails: "Fair enough." Scratch: "Knuckles?... hmm... why does that name ring a bell?" Grounder: "There are names that can ring bells?" Scratch: "Oh shut up!" back at Knothole, the Mario brothers were having lunch, while watching Amy oiling Bunnie's robotic arm. Amy: "There, that should help it move more." Bunnie: "Thanks Amy girl, Ah hope sugar hog and Tails get back soon." Luigi: "Hey girls, what's Knuckles doing over there?" asked Luigi, noticing that Knuckles was in a distance, meditating by the looks of it. Amy: "Oh that's just something he likes to do to keep him calm." Mario: "And he's supposed to be an echidna right?" Bunnie: "Ya... unfortunately... Knuckles is also the last of the echidnas..." Luigi: "The last of his kind...?, what happened?" Amy: "From what my father told me, he lost his tribe, the echidnas of the floating Angel island, by some bounty hunters betraying them when he was little... and since then, he has trouble trusting new people... especially Overlanders..." Mario: "Like the one you call Eggman?" Amy: "Yeah... that's why he still doesn't trust you two, please try to understand that." Mario: "We do..." that was when Sonic and Tails came back, with Scratch and Grounder behind them. Bunnie: "Looks like Sugar hog has got some new friends." Tails: "Hey guys, this is Scratch and Grounder, they want to join the Freedom fighters." Grounder: "Well actually..." Scratch: "Yeah, and it'll be a real pleasure to free Mobius from that evil Robotnik." Sonic: "OR Eggman as we call him." Grounder: "Ah, ha, ha!, Eggman?, now that's a funny name." Sonic: "So... where's Knuckles, he should get to know the new recruits." Amy: "Huh... he was over there a moment ago... but now he's gone." said Amy, seeing that Knuckles was nowhere to be found. Bunnie: "That echidna is more of a loner than sugar hog." Scratch: "An echidna?, but they're supposed to be extinct." Grounder: "Yeah, we..." Scratch: "Can it Grounder." said Scratch, trying to keep Grounder from talking any further. Sonic: "Yeah, Knuckles is the last of his kind, he has a bit of a trust issue with newcomers, but he'll warm up soon enough." Scratch: "Say... you wouldn't mind if you try out some of my cooking?" Sonic: "You know how to make chilli dogs?" Scratch: "Of course, I can assure you... they'll help you rest well at night, ah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha~." crowed Scratch, before he ran off to one of the huts to begin cooking some chilli dogs for Sonic and the others. Elsewhere in Knothole, the Mario brothers went over to Knuckles, who was still meditating. Mario: "Hey Knuckles, wanna try some pasta that me and my brother made?, it's quite good." Knuckles: "No thanks, I prefer berries." Luigi: "Okay... oh by the way, new recruits just came." Knuckles: "Really?" Mario: "Yeah, a Mobian rooster named Scratch, and a Mobian mole named Grounder." hearing those names, and what kind of Mobians the new recruits were, made Knuckles gasped in shock and anger. Knuckles: "Those two traitors are here?!" Luigi: "You know them?" Knuckles: "I should!, they're the reason my tribe is gone forever!" Mario: "What?" Knuckles: "Yes!, they were bounty hunters that would do anything for money, even stealing the power source that kept my home in the air, which caused it to fall and killing everyone but me from the crash!" Mario: "... And now they're here and joined the group..." Knuckles: "Sonic and the others are in danger!" gasped Knuckles, as he and the Mario brothers make a run for it to find and warn Sonic and the others. But by the time they got to the village, there was no sign of Scratch and Grounder, or Sonic and the other freedom fighters either. Mario: "Where is everybody?" Luigi: "They're all gone." Knuckles: "But they left a trail, by the looks of it, they're using a bag to drag them." Mario: "To where?" Knuckles: "My best guess... to Eggman..." Luigi: "You mean... the guy you're fighting against?" Knuckles: "The very same..." Luigi: "Then what are we waiting for?, let's go save them!" Mario: "Wait a minute, we're not heroes, we're plumbers, remember?" Luigi: "I know, but we're the only ones who can save them now, and we don't, who will?" Mario: "Well... when you put it that way..." Knuckles: "I hope you have a plan, cause you might need it." elsewhere, outside of the forest, Scratch and Grounder were dragging a sack that had Sonic and the other Mobians inside, fast asleep. Grounder: "Wow Scratch, your chilli dogs knocked them out cold." Scratch: "Well of course, that's what happens when you put a sleeping potion in the meat, now we can collect Sonic's bounty, and there's nothing he can do about it." Knuckles: "But I can!" shouted Knuckles, as he and the Mario brothers came to the scene. Grounder: "Hey... doesn't that kid look familiar?" Knuckles: "I should, I was in the same tribe that you two killed long ago!, you stole the Master Emerald to make a fortune!" Scratch: "Oh right... you're that little echidna brat who tried to stop us, but failed... although you did made us lose the Master Emerald." Grounder: "Yeah, it fell off from the island and landed who knows where." Knuckles: "And because it was no longer in it's place, Angel island fell out of the sky and got destroyed from the crash... and I was the only survivor... all because of you!" Scratch: "And just what are you gonna do about it?, you couldn't even protect a silly gem." Knuckles: "I was a little boy back then... this time's different... now I have the strength to avenge my people!" shouted Knuckles, as he jumps into the air and starts attacking the rooster and mole, while Mario and Luigi went over to the sack, and helping Sonic and the others getting out and trying to wake them up. Mario: "Sonic!, Tails!, wake up!" Luigi: "Come on Amy, Bunnie!, you gotta wake up!" it wasn't long before Sonic and the others finally woke up. Sonic: "Oh... what happened?, last thing I remember was eating Scratch's chilli dog and everything went black..." Tails: "Oh... what are we doing here?" Luigi: "Long story short, Scratch and Grounder are actually bad guys and the bounty hunters that made Knuckles the last of his kind." Amy: "What?!" Bunnie: "Oh ma stars!" Mario: "Yeah, and looky here, we found this in the sack... turns out this Eggman guy has placed a big bounty on Sonic here..." Luigi: "Yeah... 1,000,000,000 dollars..." Sonic: "Oh come on!, I'm worth way more than that." Tails: "Really?" Amy: "I think you're missing the point here..." said Amy, before she and the others see Knuckles begins to swing the bounty hunting duo around like a top, before sending them flying into the sky, and out of sight. Knuckles: "Hmm... maybe the spirits of my people could finally rest in peace..." said Knuckles, before Amy went over to him and gave him a hug for comfort. Amy: "It's okay Knuckles... you might have lost your old home and family... but you have a new one now... us at Knothole." Sonic: "She's right, we can't change the past... but we can still change the future." Tails: "And we will make a better future for all Mobians once we take down Eggman." Knuckles: "You're right... thank you... especially you two Overlanders..." Mario: "We're not Overlanders, but you're welcome." Luigi: "Yeah, we were just trying to do the right thing." Sonic: "Come on guys, let's get back to Knothole before Eggman's robots show up." said Sonic, before he and the others ran off back to the forest. Meanwhile in Robotropolis, after crash landing from being launched by Knuckles, Scratch and Grounder were captured by the S.W.A.T. bots, and were about to be put into the Roboticizer. As soon as Dr Robotnik and Snively entered the room, they see the two new robotic versions of Scratch and Grounder, ready to serve the evil dictator. Scratch: "We are here to serve you, Dr Robotnik sir... what is your command?" Dr Robotnik: "You are gonna find and capture the one called Sonic for me, and his friends as well." Grounder: "Duh... funny, we were doing that before we got turned into robots." Scratch: "Shut up!" this confused the evil doctor and Snively, as they realized that the two new robots still had their personalities. Dr Robotnik: "Snively... why do these two still have their free will?" Snively: "Hmm... there must have been some sort of malfunction in the Roboticizer or something..." Scratch: "Oh don't worry sir... we'll be happy to help you destroy that hedgehog for you... if it means getting revenge on that blasted echidna who made fools out of us." Grounder: "And I think I like being a robot, I feel unstoppable." hearing this made the evil doctor smile in an evil way. Dr Robotnik: "Well... it's like the old saying... the enemy of my enemy is my friend..." said the mad doctor, before he lets out an evil laugh the echoed throughout the room.
