NICOLE & The Power Rings

At Knothole village, Mario and Luigi were watching Sonic collecting what looked like a golden ring from a small lake. Mario: "What's that you got there?" Sonic: "It's a power ring, the main power source for Mobians abilities, it's what gives me my speed, or flight for Tails... or even strength for Knuckles." Luigi: "We never seen you used them before." Sonic: "That's because their power last for a few weeks before the run out and we have to replace them with new ones that come out of this lake of rings." Mario: "Oh... what do they do on machines?" Sonic: "Hmm... not sure, never seen them used on a machine before, but it probably won't be anything good for us if the rings fell into Eggman's hands." that was when Tails and Cream came to the scene, overheard about Sonic was talking about. Tails: "Yeah, and this here is the only lake of rings left... now that most of the land is poisoned by the pollution from Robotropolis." Cream: "That reminds me... how come this forest is still alive if it's close to Robotropolis?" that was when Amy came to the scene. Amy: "That is one of the greatest mysteries of this forest, but whatever the reason, it's what's keeping us alive and have a chance to stop Eggman." Sonic: "And the power rings as well." elsewhere, in Robotropolis, Dr Robotnik was doing some research on the power rings that kept Scratch and Grounder from getting dismantled to see what else they can do. Snively: "I take it you're interested in those rings?" Dr Robotnik: "Yes... I always heard about how the power rings give Mobians their abilities... but I always thought they were just stories until now... and I like to see what they can do for my machines." that was when Scratch came to the scene with Grounder behind him. Scratch: "And what do they do?" Grounder: "Duh, yeah, I'm curious too." Dr Robotnik: "Hmm... my guess is that for starters... from what we discovered from you two... it gives machines the ability to have not only free will, but can reassemble themselves like magic." Grounder: "Oh... we knew that... but what else?" Dr Robotnik: "It depends on who's using them... and what traits they have... to prove it though... we'll need more of these power rings..." Snively: "You two wouldn't happened to know where we can get some, right?" Scratch: "Uh... well... the only place to get fresh power rings is at a lake of rings, and those can only be found in places that contains life, like the forest nearby." Dr Robotnik: "Hmm... well I think it's time I get a hold on the freedom fighters' rings..." said Robotnik, before he lets out an evil laugh that echoes throughout the area. Meanwhile, at Tails' workshop, the little fox was working on what looked like a hand held computer unit, and that was when Cream came over to him. Cream: "What cha working on?" Tails: "This is a gadget I call NICOLE, a computer unit that will help us in our future battles... I just finished it... now all I need is a power source..." Cream: "How about a power ring?" Tails: "Hmm... never tried it before... but I guess it's worth a shot." said Tails, before he went to the lake of rings, pulled out a power ring, and placed it inside the unit. Once that happened, it turned on, and that was when NICOLE (voiced by Kath Soucie) spoke. NICOLE: "Systems online." Tails: "Wow... it worked..." NICOLE: "Greetings, I am NICOLE, an AI hand held computer unit, programed to aid the Mobian freedom fighters, are you my creator?" Tails: "Yes, my name is Tails." Cream: "And my name's Cream, it's nice to meet you." Nicole: "Greetings Cream, and creator Tails, how can I be in service?" Tails: "Well for starters... can you give me the blueprints of Robotropolis?" NICOLE: "To access such blueprints, I must download it from the computer located in where you speak." Tails: "Hmm... well that figures..." Cream: "So... you're planing to go there?" Tails: "It's the only way we'll get knowledge on Eggman's base and how to take it down." Cream: "It's a bit dangerous." Tails: "I know... but it'll be more dangerous if we don't do something about Eggman quick, now I better tell the others about the plan." said Tails, before he asked Sonic to call for a meeting, and about the plan. Sonic: "Alright, we need to get Tails to the computer of Robotropolis so he can get his new gadget, NICOLE, to download any information about the blueprints of the city and find out what Eggman's up to." Knuckles: "Should we really trust that device?" Sonic: "Hey come on, Tails built it to help us, and that's good enough for me." Amy: "Yeah, it was Tails' own gadgets that got us this far." Bunnie: "And making ma legs and arm useful for battles." Knuckles: "Well... fair enough..." Cream: "What do I do?" Amy: "Sorry Cream, but you got to stay here with the Mario brothers until we get back, you just got here and last thing we need is putting you in any danger." Cream: "But I wanna help." Mario: "Don't worry Cream, I'm sure you'll get your chance to shine when you get older." Luigi: "Yeah, and in the meantime, how about you hang out with us until Sonic and the others come back?" Cream: "Okay Mr Luigi." so with that, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Bunnie went off to Robotropolis while the Mario brothers watch over Cream at Knothole. Once they got into Robotropolis, Sonic begins to use his speed to outrun and distract the robots, while Tails goes to the main computer, and hooks up NICOLE to it, allowing the device to begin downloading the information he needs. Suddenly, Scratch and Grounder appeared and caught the little fox. Scratch: "Looks like we caught a little brat today." Grounder: "Duh, yeah!" that was when Sonic and the others came and were shocked to see that Tails has been captured, before Dr Robotnik and Snively came to the scene. Dr Robotnik: "Ah... Sonic, how unpleasant it is to see ya." Sonic: "The feelings mutual, now let go of Tails!" Dr Robotnik: "If you want him back... then surrender to me and give me one of your power rings." Tails: "Don't do it Sonic!, forget about me!, finish the mission!" Scratch: "Shut up you little brat!" Knuckles: "And just when I thought you two couldn't be any lower... working for Eggman in your own free will..." Scratch: "Don't take it personally, Dr Robotnik promised us a big payment, besides we have a score to settle with you after making fools out of us before." Amy: "You never needed our help for that." Grounder: "Duh, of course we didn't, we were born as fools... wait... that came out wrong..." Bunnie: "Nah, ah would say that came out right." Dr Robotnik: "Enough!, hand over the power rings or else this fox goes into the Roboticizer!" Grounder: "But boss, you were gonna put him and the others in it anyway." Dr Robotnik: "Shut up!, oh why even bother... when I can just take the fox's?" said Robotnik, before he takes away the power ring that Tails had and placed it into a robot that was supposed to come online by the ring, but it didn't work. Snively: "Sir... shouldn't something happened?" Tails: "Wait... that's it!, the rings would only work for Mobians!, not for robots!" Grounder: "That's not true, it works for us." Tails: "Well you two were originally Mobians, so maybe it only works on those that are or were Mobians." Snively: "And if we try the rings on the Robot Mobians... they'll have their personalities back and start a rebellion..." Dr Robotnik: "Hmm... then in that case... we must find the last lake of rings and destroy it so no one can oppose me!" Sonic: "You will do no such thing on my watch!" Dr Robotnik: "Do not forget that I still have your friend." Scratch: "Yeah, and we can turn him into a robot like us with just a push of a button... like this one." said Scratch, before getting ready to push a red button. Dr Robotnik: "No you idiot!" Snively: "Not that button!" but it was too late, Scratch pushed the button, and all the lights turned off. When Robotnik, pushed the button again and the light came back on, he noticed that Sonic and the other Mobians, including Tails, were nowhere to be found. Dr Robotnik: "You idiot!" you let them escaped!" Scratch: "Sorry, but how was I supposed to know that button would turn the lights off, Grounder and I are still new here." this only made Robotnik to growl out loud in anger. Back at Knothole, Mario and Luigi, trying to keep Cream happy, were having a little tea party with her. Cream: "Want some tea?" Mario: "Uh... sure." Luigi: "I prefer coffee, but tea's okay for me." Cream: "Doesn't coffee keep you up at night?" Mario: "If you take some before bed and if it's not decaf." that was when Sonic and the other Mobians came back, and Cream went over to Tails, giving him a big hug, happy to see him come back. Cream: "Tails!, thank goodness you're back!" Tails: "Sure I'm back, and best of all, we got the blue prints of Robotropolis, thanks to NICOLE here." NICOLE: "It was my pleasure Tails, and you'll be happy to know I hacked into the video cameras there so you can see and hear what the one you call Eggman is up to." Tails: "Really?!, awesome!" Knuckles: "Hmm... not bad... for a computer thingy." NICOLE: "Of course, just doing what Tails programed me to do." Amy: "And you followed your programming really well." Sonic: "Yeah... I'll bet my sister would be happy to have you on the team..." Mario: "You have a sister?" Sonic: "Well... I used to have one... long ago... but not anymore..." said Sonic with a sad sigh, making the Mario brothers realized what that meant. Luigi: "Oh Sonic... we're so sorry..." Sonic: "It's okay... I'm over it now... but I promised her that I will free Mobius from Eggman's rule one day... and now that we got NICOLE on our side, that day might come soon." said Sonic, with a determined smile on his face.
