What if Evelyn got poisoned and sacrificed herself at the arch?
"We need to run!" Evelyn repeated.
"You should listen to Evelyn," Echidna spoke, as the bag opened up, revealing the monster inside, extending the limbs and pierced Evelyn right in the shoulder. Evelyn clutched her shoulder in pain, wincing as she looked at the needle in her shoulder with wide eyes.
Annabeth took out her dagger and stabbed it as she yelled, "Go!" and Percy grabbed Evelyn by her hand and helped her up, as she, Percy, and Grover ran with Annabeth following behind them.
The officers noticed the kids running, and started to chase after them, yelling for them to stop.

They ran through the train. First police officers were chasing them, and second, the monster was behind them.
The three of them continued running as Annabeth closed a door, locking it fully, Evelyn noticed the girl was behind, "Annabeth, come on!"
"Eve," Grover panicked, and she turned to him as he noticed something in her jacket, and he took out what looked like a stinger.
The officers were yelling at them to open the door. "What is that?" Percy furrowed his brows.
"It's a stinger" Annabeth answered, examining Evelyn with worry. "Grover, do you know what kind of monster has one of those?" Annabeth looked over at the satyr.
"I don't know, I mean probably nothing good," Grover replied.
"Do you feel okay?" Percy asked her, his eyes solely on her.
"I think so, why?" Evelyn nodded, feeling a bit nervous with his intense gaze on her "Do you think it's poisonous or something?" She asked the other three.
Annabeth frowned, going to speak when suddenly they heard really large footsteps approaching, as the ground beneath them shook slightly.
"We have to move!" Grover called out and led the way towards the exit of the train
"Why isn't it still chasing us?" Percy asked, the four of them just ran out of the train.
"Echidna said whatever she was hiding in that carrier, it's young" Annabeth replied. "it won't venture too far from her mother." Annabeth continued as they looked back at the vehicle. "She's learning to hunt... and this seems like the hunting part."
"And it looks like we're the prey," Evelyn said as all of their eyes were locked on the train.

"We aren't gonna be able to outrun them for very long," Grover spoke as they were walking around random streets.
"We don't need to, we just need a safe place to hole up," Annabeth replied.
"Some place safe? Any ideas where we might find one of those?" Percy questioned. He looked at Evelyn, worried as she hasn't spoken since they left the train.
"I do," Annabeth answered. "A sanctuary dedicated to Athena, built by one of her demigod children a long time ago.
"There is an Athenian temple hidden somewhere in the middle of downtown St. Louis?" Grover interrogated. "Yes, except it's not all that hidden." Annabeth smiled as she saw the big building.
"It's 630 feet wide, 630 feet tall, both to within an inch," Annabeth explained as Evelyn's jaw dropped at the place.
"It's got no internal support, each side is balanced perfectly against the other. The arch is held up by symmetry, it's held up by math. And it's earthquake proof so Poseidon can't ruin it." She finished, looking over at Percy as they entered the building.
