-Hours later at Josephine's place after catching Gregory cheating-

Josephine settles into the couch holding her toddler, sitting closely with Aleigha who has her legs tucked crisscross style, snuggled in a heated blanket, nursing a cup of spiked hot cocoa watching tv.

"What are you thinking?" Josephine asks.

"I think the husband is actually innocent in this one!" Aleigha points to the tv.

"Aleigha, be serious. I'm talking about Greg."

"Oh. The wedding's off."

"O-kaaaaaay I figured that, but when Matteo was coming to pick you up... What did he say?"

"Nothing, really. I'm a college educated woman. If someone has to explain to me what my fiancé, well ex-fiancé is doing in the shower with another girl I'm calling UNC because I need my damn money back." Aleigha replies sharply.

"Language missy!" Joey covers Baby Matteo's ears.

"Damn!" Baby Matteo screams enthusiastically.

"Aleigha..." Joey side eyes Aleigha. Aleigha laughs and takes Baby Matteo into her arms.

"I'm sorry baby boy that's bad language!" Plants kiss all over the top of Baby Matteo head, in his hair. "Why are you so calm right now?" Josephine was concerned.

"I don't know. I don't feel too much of anything right now. The adrenaline is probably still going. I feel like a robot."

The room is still.

I talked with Josephine a bit more before deciding to head home. I'm so thankful for them, but I really couldn't stand being around so much love. Watching Matteo fake eat the baby's nose made me so -envious? Not in a bad way, I just couldn't look anymore you know? I just needed to go home, crack open merlot, then cry.

Aleigha flipped Baby Matteo around to face her, "Okay Matty, take care of your mommy and daddy for me! Can you give me the Bye Bye song nugget?!".

"Bye Bye! Bye Bye!" Baby Matteo claps his hands and giggles.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay the night Le? I'm so worried about you, just stay here at least for the night".

"Josephine I'm going to be okay, really".

"I'm tired and I have to get a little rest before I get on this flight. I'll call you when I get to the airport and when I get to Mama Robby".

"Oh gosh Mama Robby!". Joey's eye's widen and she pursed her lips together. "Ay! She will kill him!".

Aleigha looked through her phone:

"While in Do Not Disturb: Mr. Jenkins 💍(48 Missed Calls)

"While in Do Not Disturb: Mr. Jenkins💍 (22 Text Messages)

"He won't be dying any time soon. I need to make it through the holidays. If I tell her, she tells".

"Savannah". They say in unison.

"Oooohhhh, that's really bad...Really really bad!" Joey shakes her head.

Aleigha sat back down for a second feeling a migraine coming back on. She has her chronic migraines under control, but the stress of today had began to take its toll. She closed her eyes, "Savannah never liked Greg. She would always say she didn't need to be bit in the ass by it, to know a snake was there".

I guess I did. That proverbial snake bite bit like hell too. I told myself the entire ride back to my place that I wasn't going to cry. As soon as I closed the door I couldn't even make it up the stairs. I spent the night crying right there in the foyer. I'd never felt so alone. So betrayed.

Aleigha cried into the palm of her hands when her work tablet began to ding. It was an email for Greg. Now sitting in the comfort of her home, she pulled herself together to look over his hundreds of attempts at reaching her.

What the hell does he want?!

Aleigha.

I am so sorry, after everything you've been through, I didn't mean for this to happen. You were hurting. I was hurting. I didn't know how to deal with it. I made a mistake. She means absolutely nothing. Please let's get back to where we used to be. I've missed you so much! Please unblock me and call me Lelo. I love you.
