Aleigha, June, Bibi had decided to catch up over lunch while Mitchell worked.
"I'll have your salade niçoise, I'll take a wagyu filet as my protein. Medium rare, please?" Aleigha smiled politely handing the server her menu.
"Well, I don't think I can top with something else, two of those please." Bibi looked at Aleigha, impressed by her palate and turned her menu in as well.
June decided on honey balsamic pork chops and broccolini. The server synchs a nod and bow combo towards the ladies and excuses himself to place the orders.
Aleigha filled her mother and mother-in-law's glass, then her own while June tore a small portion of bread from her lunch roll and nibbled.
"So, how are you, my love?" Bibi begins.
"Oh, I'm doing much better, I feel amazing. Thank you again for connecting me with Dr. Jenkins. I have to say, she has this fascinating way of guiding her clients."
"Oh don't I know it, after giving birth to Mitchell, I felt so overwhelmed. Back then there wasn't all of this research and effort being put into studying postpartum, now that I think about it, they just called us unsatisfied women who had the world and were ungrateful about it, but one day I stumbled upon information for a support group she was speaking for, and we've remained connected ever since."
"That's what scares me..."
"How do you mean?" Bibi took a sip of water.
"If someone like you, so strong and resilient can feel like that after starting a family, I'm uneasy to see just how I plan on juggling all of that. Of course, I want it all and anyone other woman who'd say she did as well? I'd look at her and tell her to go and get it but...It's getting real. How did you do it?".
Bibi swallowed her piece of bread, "I stopped being selfish and started asking for help. Do you know how many new mothers suffer in silence just because they want bragging rights, to say they figured it out on their own? God blessed you with a husband that love you, friends that would die for you, siblings, and two mothers. Do you really think He'd want you doing it all on your own?".
June nodded her head. "Sometimes it's the strongest people that need the most love. Don't be afraid to ask for what you need. You don't get a medal for being an independent woman, you better use what ya got!".
"That's right!", Bibi smiled. "The reason women find it so tough to juggle everything on their own is because they aren't supposed to. Let your husband lead you, let your tribe help you. You're not alone!".
Aleigha smiled and raised her glass, "To the tribe!" she toasted. "To the tribe!" Bibi answered.

Mitchell was home sick watching WHO TF DID I MARRY in the bedroom, Mariam and Michel'le had been texting in their family group chat about it all day and he decided to watch it to shut them up.
"I thought we agreed to watch it together?" Aleigha said softly, walking through the door holding a large cup on herbal infused bone broth. "She's still in the disclaimers, come on.", replying in his congested voice.
"Here baby." He took the cup putting his face over it to feel the steam "Thank you nugget."
After a couple of hours, the two take a break Aleigha checked his temperature. "It's hot in here, turn the air on". Aleigha rolled her eyes, "the air is on and it's on 70, you'll be fine. Savannah told me to put some potatoes in your sock."
