Aphrodite's PoV

I was expecting to be bored at Zeus' stupid meeting when I heard and sniffed out the perfect chance to create the perfect immortal couple. Even though I wouldn't say it aloud (for the fear of being smited), I had always thought that Poseidon and Athena would make the couple. Hence why I had put Percy and Annabeth together. Don't you worry, they're still my favorite couple.

Anyway, when I heard that Poseidon had divorced that female dog Amphitrite and all the maiden goddess had their vow revoked, I was, as you can imagine, super stoked. It was even better when Athena decided to reconsider her vow.

When Zeus' dumb meeting finally ended, I popped right back to my lovely lair- I mean, palace. Operation Pothena is now officially started. I looked into my trusty crystal orb- the one I had used to keep an eye on Helen of Troy, the one I had used to make sure Pasiphaë had fallen in love with Minos' prize bull, the one I had used to observe Percabeth when they were in Tartarus. In the swirling silver mist of the ball, I saw a figure- one that looked a lot like Poseidon knocking on- my door?

The sound of godly knuckles against wood resounded in my palace. I clapped my hands excitedly, for I had a feeling what he was seeing me for.

"Come in!" I called, and giggled with anticipation.

"Er, hello, Aphrodite. I was wondering if you could give Athena this the next time you see her?" Poseidon rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. 'Awww!' I mentally swooned. How come Ares didn't do anything like this for me, and we were actually officially dating!

"Sure thing!" I chirped, smiling at Poseidon. "I assume that you are here for advice to ask Athena out?"

"Excuse me?" Poseidon choked on -air? I don't know. But he choked on something. "No! I don't even like Athena, why would I want to ask her out?"

"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night." I wriggled my eyebrows at him suggestively. He just sighed and marched out of my palace.

I looked down at the bracelet Poseidon had made for Athena. It was really quite pretty, with the elegant yet simple seashells and owl charm dangling. And- was the string made out of water? I touched the string. It was cool and passed through my fingers like they had never been there. Yup, water. For Poseidon to have crafted a water product/jewelry for Athena, it meant that the wearer would have the eternal protection of the sea, the creatures and Poseidon himself. The Naiads, Oceanids, and Nereids would also be bound to protect her, whether they wanted to or not. And since Poseidon had specified who the bracelet was for, it would never work for anyone else.

'Sure,' I thought, grinning to myself evilly, 'You're not in love with her. Keep telling yourself that.'
