It's 3:30, the bell finally rings, signaling an end to the school day.
Finally, you think to yourself. You were wiped; between work last night and sparring with Bakugou this morning, your energy was spent.
You let out a sigh as you stand up from your seat and began to pack your things in your bag. Everyone else in class was doing the same. You heard your classmates conversing with one another, but you didn't have the energy to go join, so you just kept to yourself.
As you're exiting your homeroom, you feel a tap on your shoulder. You turn around to see Mina. "Hey y/n," she beams, always so full of energy. "Some of the girls in class are going to the mall. Do you want to join?"
"Sorry Mina, I got to help my aunt out today. Maybe another time?" You reply, Not wanting to reveal you were working. One person already knows; I can risk more people figuring out. Then I'll be exposed.
"Aw man" she pouts. "Have fun. Text me if you see anything good at the mall," you reply before walking off.
I wonder if Mei will let me skip work. You think to yourself, knowing that was just wishful thinking.
Trudging along, the weight of exhaustion pulling at your steps. Eventually, you made your way to your aunt's café. Upon entering, the doorbell chimes, announcing your presence.
"Hey there, my little sunshine," your aunt greets you behind the checkout counter.
With a lackluster "hi Mei," you shuffle past her, heading towards the back of the café where the changing room is located.
As you open your work locker, your coworker appears beside you, leaning against the adjacent lockers.
"Hey Y/N, how was school?" she inquires.
"The usual—boring, tiring, a drag. Shall I continue?" you respond sarcastically.
"Well, someone's in a great mood today!" she retorts.
"Oh yeah, by the way, didn't your shift start Lana? Why are you bugging me?" turning to look at your fellow coworker who is already dressed in the uniform, today's theme featuring cat ears.
"Hmm, yeah, but I just love you so much, How can I not bug you?" Lana replies with a grin.
With a chuckle, you turn back to your locker and pull out your uniform, reluctantly beginning to change.
"Hey, where did you get that nasty bruise, Y/N?" Lana asks, pointing at your arm.
Looking down, you notice the beginnings of a sizable bruise forming on your arm. Bakugou that damn brat. You think to yourself.
"We had quirk-less sparring today in class, and my classmate that I was versing doesn't go easy on anyone, let alone girls" you explain.
"Hmm, so it was a boy?" Lana smirks.
"Yeah? So what?" you reply, furrowing your brows in confusion.
"Is he cute?" Lana probes, trying to pry some information out of you.
"As if," you scoff at the thought as you finish lacing up your maid outfit.
"Well, I don't know, if someone was all up in my face, I would want them be attractive," Lana shrugged.
"Of course you would," you laughed.
Before Lana could respond, your aunt came into the back room and called for you and your coworker to get to the front, as there were some customers that needed to be served.
"Smiling faces, ladies, and by ladies, I mean you, Y/N," your aunt said with a grin.
You responded with a hint of sass, "Yes, ma'am." Snatching your cat ears, you placed them on your head and donned that familiar customer service smile. It felt humbling, to say the least.
Meanwhile...
"According to my maps, it's just down the street," Denki said, glancing down at his phone. With Kirishima beside him and Bakugou trailing close behind, the trio continued down the road toward the new cafe that was buzzing with excitement.
Meanwhile, Bakugou couldn't help but think to himself that this better not be a waste of time.
The group arrived at their destination, stopping in front of the door and looking at the small building adorned with the name "Gentle Café."
"Hmm, looks interesting enough," Kirishima remarked, raising an eyebrow. Despite nothing particularly notable happening on the outside of the building, the boys' curiosity got the better of them, and they decided to enter.
With a ring of the doorbell, they were greeted by a tall man dressed in a suit and gloves.
"Good afternoon, young masters," the man smiled warmly. "Welcome home. Follow me, and we can seat you." He motioned for the boys to follow him to a table on the left side of the cafe.
"Uh, this is weird," Kirishima whispered to Denki, who was walking alongside him.
"Bro, I don't know, I just know it gets good reviews," Denki replied, equally confused.
The two boys glanced back at their explosive friend, only to find a scowl etched on his face.
Seated at the table, the gentleman who escorted them spoke, "Welcome to Gentle Café, a butler café where we serve young masters such as yourselves. I will give you a moment to look over the menu." With a bow, he departed, leaving three dumbfounded boys in his wake.
"Where the hell did you take me?" Bakugou spat, his annoyance palpable.
"I wish I knew," Kiri laughed nervously in response, the absurdity of the situation sinking in.
"Yeah, maybe it's just that one guy," Denki said with a shrug, attempting to rationalize their predicament.
As the boys sit at their table they glanced around noting all the male servers adorned in identical suits, ties, and white-gloved hands. The butlers surrounding them seem to exude an air of exaggerated politeness and formality.
But the absurdity only escalates as the butlers continue their exaggerated antics. They bow deeply, almost comically so, and when they refill water glasses, they do so with an unnecessary flourish, as if putting on a show.
"Man, if I was gonna make the mistake of going to a cosplay café ,why couldn't it be a maid café," Denki whined. Upset at the missed opportunity to scout some girls.
"Hello, esteemed young masters," one butler begins, his voice dripping with theatricality. "Allow me, your humble servant, to offer you the finest selections from our menu. What can I prepare for you? Would you care for our signature dish, 'The Gentleman's Delight'?"
Bakugou's eye twitches with annoyance, his patience wearing thin as the butlers continue their theatrics. "What the actual fuck is going on here?!" he explodes, sparks crackling around him.
"Uhhh, can we have a moment?" Denki replied, attempting to diffuse the situation as the butler politely excused himself.
Kirishima nervously chuckles, trying to lighten the mood. "Uh, guys, maybe they're just really committed to their roles?"
It wasn't long before one of the butlers returned with some water for the boys. With sheepish smiles, they accept, unsure of how to proceed in the current situation.
"Have we decided on anything yet, young masters?" the butler inquired.
"Uh, whatever you recommend," Denki chuckled, his uncertainty evident.
"The Gentleman's Delight!" the butler exclaimed enthusiastically before departing. The boys didn't even know what they had just ordered.
