*Cough*
*Cough*
"Haa.. That was close." Ying said relieved after having almost drowned. She could feel her nose stuffy from all the water she accidentally inhaled.
"Where am I?" She whispered to herself. It was dark and she couldn't see anything. Judging by the fact that there's no light in the place she was in and no opening of the well up top, she thought that she must've been swept in some sort of hidden passageway in the well by the water. She could feel the water was now below her knee, unlike earlier where it had covered the entirety of her body.
'Click-'
The place brightens as Ying opens the torchlight function on her watch, which she just remembered that she had one all this time.
'A tunnel?' She thought. She was now in a narrow tunnel, where the water couldn't reach due to it being a level higher. She climbed up and took a look at her surroundings. She opens up her watch's hologram to see the signal's location was closer.
'I knew it! It was inside the well!' Ying was overjoyed that she was now close to finishing this mission. Before she moves on to go find out what the signal was all about, she tried to call Halilintar first. She was worried about how he's doing up there, especially because the ghost that dragged her down wasn't anywhere to be seen. The screen of the hologram showed the usual phone symbol connecting to another one.
5 seconds..
10 seconds..
15, 20..
30 seconds later, the call had disconnected.
Thinking positively she tried again, and again. After a few tries, he still didn't answer. Even if she knows he's strong, she could not help but be worried. Taking a deep breath she decided to trust him, and went forward in the tunnel.
'I hope Hali's okay.'
.
.
.
Halilintar was in fact not okay.
Right now, he was face to face with the ghost that's been haunting him since earlier. After it had dragged Ying inside the well, the ghost had climbed out and were standing a few feet away from him. Halilintar was stuck in his place, his legs wouldn't move even if he wanted to.
The appearance of the ghost could be seen clearly now that they're out of the well. She was wearing a white long dress, like in those typical horror movies, it looks dirty and seems to be torn in some places. She looked like a person who had died from drowning, unnaturally pale with blue and purple skin in some areas. The ghost was fully drenched from head to toe, the water drips down to the ground making it wet.
The ghost was standing still, not moving an inch. She seems to be guarding the well.
Halilintar gulps down his saliva and fear. Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves down, he took a step forward, bringing his sword into an attack position. If he wanted to save Ying, he has to overcome his fear.
