Hot Cocoa

Tsss-

A dino capped boy, with an earth emblem on it, stared at the cup with chocolate drink powder in it as the hot water slowly fills the cup. It was 2 AM at the moment and the earth element couldn't sleep. He decided to drink his grandpa's famous hot chocolate drink so it could help to relax his mind a bit. Gempa sigh as he picked up the cup, his tired face reflected on the drink. He turned around to go sit, but he was met with a pair of blue eyes.

"Opocot!-" His shoulders jumped, scared by the person standing before him, thankfully his chocolate drink only spilled a little. "Y-Ying.." Gempa muttered the name of the person. "Don't scare me like that.." He said, rubbing his chest. "Sorry.." The girl whispered. "What's that?" She asked, Gempa followed her gaze on the cup in his hand. "Hot chocolate. Do you want one?" He offered, smiling. The girl smiled in return.

"So, why are you still awake?" Gempa asked the girl sitting in front of him. Ying blew on her drink made by the earth element before replying. "I was up researching." She sipped the hot chocolate, smiling as the warmth relaxes her, her shoulders slumped. "I see.." The boy muttered, staring at his drink.

"Now, it's my turn to ask. Why are you still awake?" She questioned him. Gempa glanced at her before looking back at his cup. "Just.. a lot on my mind, that's all." He replied, sipping his drink. Ying stared at him, seeing his tired eyes made her frown a bit, then she went to look at her drink, her dark circles is seen on the surface of the hot chocolate. Ying then turned to look at him, with a smile on her face.

"Hey, do you have any rubber bands?" She asked, the question made the earth element confused but he replied nonetheless. "There's probably some on the counter.. Why do you ask?" Ying's smile turned big a little, she stood up to go to the counter to look for the rubber bands. All the while, the earth element eyes her with a confused look on his face. After she got some she went back to her seat. "I learned a new trick!" She explained, excitement in her eyes as she leaned forward. Ying began to take one rubber band and put it into two fingers, then twisting it to make a heart.

"Tadaa!!" She grinned showing him her finished work. Gempa giggled at her, he then smiled, his eyes turning soft. Ying's heart skips a beat seeing him smile like that, her cheeks flushed. The earth element went to take the rubber bands and started to make something while Ying wondered what he was gonna make. The girl's eyes sparkled after he finishes, he made a heart similar to hers but it was bigger.

"No wonder you were a champion." She giggled. Gempa softly laughed at her compliment, "You still remember that? I didn't think it was that much really" He sheepishly smiled. "Of course it is!" Ying exclaimed, "You won in a galaxy tournament. Galaxy!!" She half-shouted, slamming her hands on the table, her face close to the boy. "Okay, okay" Gempa nervously said, leaning his head back a bit from how close their faces were.

"I think you should go to sleep now. It's already so late." Gempa said, picking up his and Ying's empty cup. "But I don't feel sleepy.." The girl mumbled, laying her head on her crossed arms. "Do you?" She turned to look at the earth element, to which he shrugged as a response. The boy stood up to wash the cups and went back to their table, sighing softly as he stares at his friend that was 'playing' with one of the rubber bands.

"Come on, Ying" Gempa urged her to stand up. The girl only glanced at him before going back to the rubber bands. "Want me to sing you to sleep then?" Gempa half-jokingly said. Ying perked up at this, straightening her back as she thought for a moment. Then, she opened her arms, confusing the boy. "I'm offering you a hug." She said, smiling. "Uhm.. Why?" Gempa nervously laughed.

"Don't question it." The glasses girl said, pulling him closer into a hug, startling the boy, his face reddened instantly. "Just accept it.." She whispered. Ying began to take off Gempa's hat and stroke his hair slowly. She hums a lullaby that her mom used to sing for her when she was younger. Instead of protesting, Gempa leans more into her chest and enjoyed the song. He let his tiredness consume him as he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep in her embrace.

Ying kept stroking his hair, softly smiling when she heard his small snores. She gently pressed her lips on his head before pulling away. 'Honestly, he really should take care of himself more.' She thought, her eyes saddened a little. 'He always takes care of other people but not himself' She sighed. 'So, why not I be the one who takes care of him?' She stared at the boy's head. Ying quickly shakes her head to get rid of the thought, blushing furiously. 'What am I thinking?! It's as if I'm saying I'm gonna be his wife or something' She hid her face on both her palms, she could feel her cheeks burning.

Letting out a big sigh, Ying felt that it was time for her to sleep too. 'How am I gonna get out of this situation?' She thought, staring at the earth element. Suddenly, an idea popped up in her head as her face brightens and typed something on her watch. A few minutes later, a groggy element with a white dino hat came into the kitchen. "Ugh, did you really have to make me work this late?" Solar said. "It's not like as if you were sleeping anyway." Ying rolled her eyes.

The light element went to pick up his counterpart off of the glasses girl, carefully so as to not wake him up, also not forgetting the earth element's hat on the table. "Thanks." Ying whispered. Solar tiredly hums as a response. Before he was about to go out the door, he stopped his tracks and looked back at her. Confused, Ying wonders what he wants. Solar smirked smugly at her, then stepped out the door. Ying, taken aback, became irritated, her face twitches as she stomped out the door going back to her room, fuming.
