I'm Not Like Him | Hwang Hyunjin

Seventeen

Two weeks went by and Hyunjin never left your side. He stayed at the hospital with you. He didn't want to leave your side. He wanted to be here when you wake up. The members would come and see you often too. They would sit there and talk about the memories they had with you. Hyunjin had gone on hiatus. So he wasn't with the members when they were performing, practicing or anything else like that. You were his top priority.

Your dad wasn't informed about you since he had gone back to America. He wanted to see you but he thought you didn't. That reason being because you never reached out to him and never went to see him back in America.

Hyunjin held your hand while looking at the tubes that were still hooked up to you. Chan and Seungmin were there with him. Hyunjin lets go of your hand and stands up from where he was sitting. He didn't want to leave your side but he needed to get some air. Chan reassured him that they would watch you and immediately call him if anything happened. Hyunjin left the room and started walking to the front desk. He then stops. He turns back and walks back down the hallway where all the patient rooms were. He finds himself outside a room that wasn't yours. It was Liam's.

Liam had also gotten severely hurt in the accident. He had been unconscious for five days. He was awake now but you weren't. Hyunjin opened the door and walked in, making sure to close the door behind him. It was quiet in the room. There were no doctors or nurses. Liam sees him before Hyunjin can see Liam. Hyunjin walks over to Liam with a very angry face.

"Oh... You're Y/n's husband, aren't you?" Liam asks.

"I would've been her husband if you hadn't taken her away. I'm seriously going to kill you." Hyunjin clenches his jaw.

After Liam woke up the police never came to investigate him. It was like they put it off to the side. It made Hyunjin furious. He wanted Liam to also be put behind bars like his brother was. Suddenly Liam starts laughing. Hyunjin stares at him confused.

"Why are you laughing? Is this funny to you?"

Hyunjin uses both of his hands and grabs Liam by the collar of his shirt. Liam was taken aback and his eyes widened. Liam then grins at Hyunjin.

"I just can't believe my plan worked." Liam says.

"What plan? What did you do, you bastard?!"

"I'm not who you think I am. I mean even the police don't know because their so fucking stupid. Oh... My poor brother. He must be so scared in there."

Hyunjin was so confused. He continues to hold Liam like that. But he was starting to think what if this wasn't Liam. Adrian and Liam were twins. Maybe they were identical twins.

"Hi, Hyunjin. It's good to see you again."

Hyunjin's eyes widened. He was right. This was Adrian. Not Liam. Liam was the one who was in jail. But he didn't understand how that was possible. Hyunjin then uses one hand and punches Adrian in the face. He does it again but harder. Hyunjin is then pulled back by someone. Chan had pulled him away. He wanted to check on Hyunjin but had seen him walk into this room instead.

"Hyunjin, what are you doing?!" Chan says surprised.

"Beating this bastard up!" Hyunjin replies.

"You can't do that, Hyunjin. That isn't what Y/n would want you to do."

"She would want me to do it if she knew that this isn't Liam."

"What?"

"Hyung, Liam is the one who's in jail. This is Adrian. He's the one who took Y/n away and tried to kill her."

"What? But how..." Chan trails off feeling confused. But then it makes sense to him.

Hyunjjn and Chan both stare at Adrian. They weren't going to let him get away. Adrian suddenly jumps off from his bed but Hyunjin and Chan stop him from leaving. Chan shouts for doctors. Moments later doctors come in and take Adrian from Chan and Hyunjin. Adrian glares at them. Chan and Hyunjin leave the room and quickly go back to yours.

When they enter your room they see Mina sitting beside your bed, sobbing. Seungmin was trying to comfort her but it wasn't working. Seungmin's eyes trail over to Chan and Hyunjjn and he notices their expressions.

"What's wrong?" Seungmin asks. Mina then looks over at them.

"Hyunjin! I'm so sorry!" Mina sobs.

"We have a bigger issue here." Hyunjin sighs.

"What does that mean?" Seungmin stands there confused.

"Adrian isn't in jail. Liam is."

"Then that means..."

"Adrian was the one who took her and attempted to kill her."

"But how? How did this even happen?" Mina wipes away her tears.

"I'm guessing Adrian threatened Liam. They're identical twins. The police are so dumb that they didn't realize Adrian swapped with Liam." 

"We need to go to the police." Mina says, grabbing Seungmin's arm.

"Even if we go there they won't believe us without evidence." Chan says.

"They can do a DNA sample." Mina suggests.

"They should have done that in the first place. Unless they didn't know about Adrian having an identical twin brother." Seungmin says as Mina lets go of his arm.

"They must've swapped places during the court trial." Chan shakes his head.

"So what are we going to do now? I really thought this whole thing was out to rest. He doesn't deserve to be behind bars anymore. He deserves to die. He almost killed Y/n." Seungmin angrily says.

"We aren't killing anyone. I mean that. He does deserve it but I don't think Y/n would want any of us going to jail. Especially for Adrian." Chan steps in.

Now there was a new thing Hyunjin kept constantly thinking about. Adrian. He couldn't believe what Adrian had done. He had gone too far. Especially making his own brother take his place. That also made him realize when he went to the prison to talk to Adrian he was talking to Liam. Liam must have been acting. But he still wondered why Liam would do this. He knew Liam didn't like Adrian very much. It didn't make any sense to him. Unless he was threatened to do so.

Staring at you, Hyunjin knew he needed to do something. He wanted for all of this to end. He wanted to live a happy life with you. He didn't want you to worry about your past life anymore. He got up from the chair he was sitting in and before he left your room he kissed you on the head. He then made his way over to Adrian's room.

He stood outside the room for a few moments trying to make sure no one would see him. He then slips into Adrian's room quickly and shuts the door quietly. He carefully walks over to Adrian's bed. Adrian was sleeping. Tubes were hooked up onto him. His condition was getting worse.

Hyunjin hovered over him, staring at him in disgust. Hyunjin then uses both of his hands and wraps them around Adrian's neck, starting to strangle him. Adrian wakes up as his eyes jolt open feeling unable to breathe. He sees Hyunjin and wants to say something but can't. Hyunjin's hand around his neck was too tight. Adrian started hitting Hyunjin's arms with his hands, trying to make him stop. Liam was turning really blue.

"You are really stupid. I'm going to kill you." Hyunjin tightens his grip on Adrian's neck.

After a few more moments Adrian's arms fall down. Hyunjin stares at him, removing his hands away. He wanted to make sure he was actually gone and not faking it. All of a sudden the machines that were hooked up to Adrian started going off. Hyunjin's eyes widened realizing what he actually did. He quickly gets out of there as doctors and nurses start rushing into Adrian's room. Hyunjin stands near his room, wanting to hear news on Adrian. After a while of waiting, doctors and nurses walk out of Adrian's room. Hyunjin stops one of them.

"What happened to him? Is he okay?" Hyunjin asks, pretending to be concerned.

"I'm sorry to say this... Unfortunately Mr. Miller has died. His condition got really worse and we couldn't save him in time."

Hyunjin walks away and as he does so a smile sneaks onto his lips. He killed Adrian. He would never admit that he did so.
