I'm Not Like Him | Hwang Hyunjin

Nineteen

"Why do you look so nervous, Y/n?" Seungmin looks at you.

"Huh? Do I?" You nervously laugh.

"Yeah. You do. What's wrong?" Mina grabs your hand.

"It's about Liam getting out." You admit.

"What about him getting out? Weren't you best friends with Liam? Like before everything that happened with... You know who." Seungmin says.

"Yeah, but then other things happened." You look down.

"What does that mean?"

That's when you admit to what you did to Liam. How you almost killed him. Mina and Seungmin never thought you'd ever do that, especially to someone who you were very close with. Then again at the time you were with Adrian. Seungmin tried explaining to you that it wasn't your fault. Adrian had gotten into your head. You would have never done that to Liam if it wasn't for Adrian. But you had a hard time believing that.

"His mother blames me. She... She's after me."

"She's after you? Who told you that? Adrian?" Mina asks. You nod.

"I know she is. This was her plan. Her and Adrian were working together. They wanted to get me killed."

You stop talking when you hear footsteps. Someone had entered your room. You clutched Mina's hand, thinking it's Liam's mother. It wasn't. It was a woman in a police outfit. She was a police officer.

"Hi. Choi Y/n?" She greets you.

"Yes. That's me." You answer.

"I have a couple questions I'd like to ask you, if that's okay."

Hyunjin and Chan stare at Liam not knowing what to say. He told them all about Adrian and their mother's plan. How they wanted to kill you. But he also mentioned how you almost killed him. Even though Adrian was acting like Liam, Liam still knew about you trying to kill him. He didn't blame you like his mother did. He blamed it all on Adrian. He blamed everything on Adrian. He hated his guts. He knew he was the reason why you did that. Adrian wanted Liam out of the picture so instead of him trying to do something, Adrian made you do it.

"I know, you may not believe me. It's okay. Because I didn't want to believe Y/n would do something like that. Especially to me. But then it made sense. It was because of my brother. It was not her fault." Liam says.

"So where's your mother now? Wasn't she the one that just visited you?" Chan asks.

"Yes. It was her. She's trying to find Y/n. She doesn't seem to know about my brother yet."

"Why did you play along? You've been suffering because of them, Liam."

"I had no choice... My whole life I've always been told to follow along with my mother and brother. They never cared about me. The only thing they cared about was making sure I went along with all their plans."

"I'm so sorry. But I promise you, Liam. We will get you out of here. For Y/n's sake."

Hearing your name makes Liam smile.

"How is she? Is she awake yet?" Liam asks.

"She just woke up. But they're keeping her there to keep an eye on her in case her condition gets worse like your brother's did." Hyunjin says.

The police officer that brought Liam into the room, comes back in. He says time is up. Hyunjin and Chan had to leave. Before Liam got taken away, Hyunjin and Chan kept promising him they would do whatever it takes to get him out of here. He didn't deserve to be here.

As Hyunjin and Chan walk out and head back to where the others were, they are startled when they run up to them.

"Geez, what was that for?" Hyunjin puts a hand over his heart.

"We have news. About their mother." Jeongin says.

"What news?" Chan asks.

"She's just been arrested. The police did their jobs good for once and figured everything out." Changbin says.

"So... Does that mean Liam will be released?" Chan asks. They all nod.

You were the reason why Liam and Adrian's mother was arrested. The police officer that came to ask you questions got answers out of you about Adrian and his mother. Liam would now be released. Now their mother would rot in prison for what she's done.

Hyunjin rushed back to the hospital. He needed to see you. To tell you the news. But he didn't know that you already knew. Once he entered your room, he ran to you, and tried to explain everything. You cut him off by telling him you already knew. Then you explained you were the reason why she got arrested and why Liam was being released.

"Where are the others?" You ask, not seeing everyone else that went with Hyunjin.

"They stayed back. They offered to take Liam back to his home since Liam doesn't have anyone else." Hyunjin says.

"You've done it, Y/n! You saved the day!" Mina jumps. Seungmin stops her.

"She's not a superhero." Seungmin says.

"To me, she is a superhero. She's my superhero. A very brave one." Hyunjin smiles.

"That was cheesy." Seungmin cringes.

There was a whole court trial with their mother. You attended it with Hyunjin. Liam was there too. But not once did you talk or even spare a glance at him. You knew he knew about you trying to kill him. You couldn't talk to him. You didn't want to. Anytime you did look at him he just reminded you of Adrian which was another reason. Their mother was sentenced to life in prison. When she started crying and screaming for Liam he didn't look at her. He had finally gotten his revenge on his mother and brother. He was finally happy he wasn't going to have to listen or follow them anymore.

The day after the court trial you were allowed to be released from the hospital. Your condition got better. However your doctor did tell Hyunjin to keep an eye on you just in case. One of the things Hyunjin was worried about was you losing your memory. You did get a bad concussion from the car accident but it luckily didn't make you lose your memory. That could have been very bad.

Coming back home from the hospital you and Hyunjin had talked things out. The both of you decided that Hyunjin would move into your house. So you went to the dorm and Hyunjin packed up his stuff and then the both of you went to your house. You helped him unpack his things. The both of you would now be living together.

"Is that everything?" You ask, folding up the last box.

"Yes. I think so. I'm glad we agreed on this. It's better this way, anyway." He kisses you.

"Well, it was going to happen eventually. We were going to live together after we get married and also because... We want to start our own family."

"Speaking of that..." He sits down on your bed. "When will we get married? For real this time."

You walk over to him, wrapping your arms around his neck as he wraps his arms around your waist, "Let's do it this Saturday. Does that work for you? I want to get married as soon as possible."

He softly kisses your lips, "That works for me."
