She was watching as the flower of evil sprouted.

School began three days after the opening ceremony.
Light and Kurayami were always seen with each other, side by side, even at school. So it was only natural she accompanied both Light and Ryuga to their friendly game of tennis.
Or as much friendly as it could be.
"I must say Ryuga I was surprised you wanted to play tennis as a way to get to know each other" Light said while digging through his sports bag, picking up a tennis racket and ball.
"Is it a problem for you?" Ryuga asked.
Kurayami was glad to see Ryuyga at least wear shoes outside instead of walking barefoot.
She let out a sigh, tilting her head upward to bathe in the radiant sunlight, embracing the gentle warmth of mid-spring. Throughout the long winter months, she had yearned for the comforting heat of summer, and now it was finally just around the corner.
"Not at all," She heard Light respond, and she turned slightly to look at him. "But when you challenged me did you know how good I was?" A faint smile graced Light's lips as the trio made their way toward an unoccupied pitch. The creature usually following light, more akin to a Shinigami than anything else, trailed behind them, his feet gliding just above the ground.
"Yes. I'll be fine though. It's been a while but at one time was the British junior champion" Ryuga spoke, earning an interesting look from Kurayami.
"So are you British?" She asked in astonishment. "You don't look like it," She blurted out, regretting it moments later. She needed to work on her wording.
"I lived in England for about five years when I was younger but save your breath. Nothing in that story will reveal L's true identity, I promise you," He said in a monotone voice, not even sparing her a glance.
"Oh, no sorry I just wanted to know more about you that's all." She waved her hands in front of her face.
He was watching her every move, analyzing everything carefully. Maybe she should just keep her mouth shut for now so she wouldn't seem suspicious. Or perhaps she could use it to her advantage and make light seem innocent.
The tennis match was quite entertaining. It had been long since she had seen her brother play. He had been the Junior Champion but quit a while ago. She had missed watching him play, it always looked so easy for him.
He never taught her how to play tennis but she never asked either so what could she expect? Either way, she felt content just watching them play. She didn't need to play herself to enjoy the game.
Ryuga was good too, moving like a cat, every step smooth and precise, perfectly calculated.
With a confident swing, he sent the ball back toward Light and Light received it without a problem, just as confident hitting it back to Ryuga.
In the end Light won, and after the match the three packed together their things and exited the tennis field.
"You were both good out there y'know," Kurayami said, beaming toward the two. "I haven't had that much fun in a long time."
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," Light said, placing a hand on her head and ruffling her hair a bit. "Hey, I'm a bit thirsty plus there's something I want to ask you about Ryuga," Light turned to the black-haired man while Kurayami was fixing her hair. "You two wanna go for a drink?"
