Chapter 15

"Somethings wrong"

Enzo:

I turn back around realising the girls aren't there anymore. I end the call walking around to see if they decided to go in another room before hearing faint noises from my office. I walk in noticing them both looking down at something on the desk noticing the blue folder on the edge of the desk.

"What the fuck"! I say as they both startle looking over at me. "What are you doing in here"? I say walking over seeing the photos of every man spread out. "I'm going to leave", Lexi says walking away leaving me and aria alone.

"Aria, what are you doing", i ask resting against the desk brushing my hand down my face. "I remember the face of the man who attacked me", she say as I look over. "The one who killed our baby", she add as I stand back up.

"I wanted to see if you had him, I want revenge", she says as her eyes start watering. "Amore", i say kneeling down infront of her. "Did you find him"? I ask as she nods. "Tell me, tell me and I'll make sure he gets what he deserves", i add as she looks back over at the photos.

She goes silent staring at one particular photo before pointing to it sat out on the table. "It was him", was all she said before going silent again. "I pick up the card separating it from the rest as she stands back up.

"Promise me everything is going to be okay", she says looking up at me. "promise", I reply as she wraps her arms around my waist. "I want to come", she says. "With you when you go to see them", she says as I instantly cut her off. "Not a chance", i reply as she pulls back.

"Why not, it's not going to be dangerous you have them now I just want to see", she says as I shake my head. "That's out of the question you'll be staying here end of story", i reply. "Please Enzo, I don't even have to be in the room I'll wait outside and just watch", she replies.

"It's not happening aria sorry", i reply as she storms out. "Great", I think to myself as Santi enters. "Someone's in the doghouse", he says as I pack away the photos. "You forgot one", he says handing the photo pushed aside.

"That one's staying out", i reply as he looks confused. "He's the one that caused aria to be in hospital, and the one that killed our baby", i reply as he turns the photo around looking. "Antonio", he says out loud. "That's one of the men that were at that underground club where gio had aria", he says.

"Gios number one protector", he adds. "And he'll be getting double what he deserves", i reply. "How are you holding up with it all", he asks. "I'm just trying not to think about it and focusing myself on gio", i reply as he nods.

"You can try to distract yourself but at the end of the day you cannot ignore something like that, aria needs someone the most right now and you being in the doghouse isn't going to help it", he says. "Go after her I'll deal with this", he says as I stand up.

I walk into the bedroom watching her sat along the end of the bed with her hands in her hair. "Aria", i say as she stays silent. "Somethings wrong", she says lifting her head up with her hand on her stomach. I rush over by her side as her cheeks are red.

"You're burning up", i say resting the palm of my hand on her face. "What's wrong", i say kneeling down in front of her. "I don't know", she replies as I help her stand up. "I'll call the home doctor lay down for now I'll be back in a minute", i reply helping her back into bed before rushing out for the phone.

We were both in bed by the time the doctor arrived. "She definitely has a temperature, but that doesn't explain the pain", he says. "What are you saying"? I reply. "She's going to have to go in for a full checkup", he says. "The hospital, I don't want to go back", she replies.

"It's best you get seen straight away, you don't want this to escalate and end up worse than it already is", he replies. "Thank you", i say before helping her stand back up as we make our way out to the car.

We drive to the nearest hospital before being seen straight away by one of the nurses as they tell us she will need a scan to look inside at what's causing the pain. I wasn't allowed to go with her so I waited outside pacing back and forth as the rest appear.

"What's going on"? Lexi asks walking over with Santi. "We don't know yet they've taken her to have a scan to try and figure out what's happening", i reply as a nurse exits the room. "So we have found the problem, but it's probably best we talk together once arias back in a room", she says.

A nurse helps to escort her out of the room she's in and into her new room before handing her some medication for the pain. "Are you okay with everyone being here"? She asks aria as she looks at the others. "We'll give you some space", they reply leaving just me aria and the nurse in the room.

"So we are going to have to schedule you in for an operation later on today as your left ovary has twisted", she says. "This is vital we fix as it could become ruptured and then potentially become a real problem if not sorted right away", she says.

"How has this happened", i ask. "We are guessing it's from the previous problems that have happened", she says hinting towards the wounds on her stomach. "We are going to try to resolve the issue best we can but it's looking like we are going to have to remove the ovary", she says as aria looks worried.

"The blood supply through the ovary has been cut off by it becoming twisted so it is no longer able to do its normal work", she says. The procedure is called a oophorectomy which will be the removal performed laparoscopically".

"This will be a small instrument inserted through the abdominal wall to permit a small scale surgery", she adds. "Will she be okay after it"? I ask as she nods. "She will be back to normal in no time, she will still have the right ovary but it's best we fix this right away to stop any further harm", she says as aria holds my hand.

"However by having this procedure the chances of you becoming pregnant will be cut slim as it will cause fertility issues in the future", she says. "I can't have any children"? Aria asks as I look at her. "It definitely means you will still be able to conceive but the chances of you becoming pregnant will be less as you will only have 1 out of the 2 working ovaries", she says.

"However the right ovary is much stronger than the left as ovulation occurs more frequently which is still a good sign", she adds. "I know this may be hard to hear but you will still be able to conceive but your chances will be cut slim", she says.

"When is the operation"? I ask. "We have scheduled you in to have the procedure if you agree within the next couple of hours", she replies. " a nurse will come by within the hour to discuss things further as this is all I can give for now", she adds. "Thank you", aria says as she leaves.

"I can't get pregnant", aria says looking down as I stand up. "I'm gonna fucking kill them", i say storming out.

Aria:

"When is the operation"? Enzo asks. "We have scheduled you in to have the procedure if you agree within the next couple of hours", she replies.
"A nurse will come by within the hour to discuss things further as this is all I can give for now", she adds. "Thank you", i say as she leaves.

"I can't get pregnant", i say looking down as Enzo stands up. "I'm going to fucking kill them", he says storming out.
